Malaysian Heatwave

Discussion in 'Severe Weather' started by THALLON, Mar 19, 2016.

  1. A heatwave has been declared for many areas of Peninsular Malaysia.
The temperature at Alor Star in Malaysia reached a maximum of 38.5 Degrees Celsius yesterday indicating how hot it has been in Alor Star recently.
According to mherrera.org/temp.htm as of some time last week before Friday(March 11 2016) the maximum temperature ever recorded at Cameron Highlands in Malaysia was 26.7 Degrees Celsius but the temperature at Cameron Highlands climbed to 27.2 Degrees Celsius on that Friday.
According to mherrera.org/temp.htm as of today the highest temperature ever recorded at Cameron Highlands was 27.2 Degrees Celsius and this record has made it into the list of (extreme) temperature records of 2016.
This means that a new record for the highest temperature ever recorded at Cameron Highlands have probably been set on that Friday
The record of 38.5 Degrees Celsius at Alor Star has also made it into the list of (extreme) temperature records of 2016.
The record of 38.5 Degrees Celsius at Alor Star was set on both March 10 2016 and March 12 2016.
According to data from The Weather Underground,so far as of today there has been 10 consecutive days where the maximum temperature at Alor Star was at a value that can be rounded off to 37 Degrees Celsius or higher.
Although it is usually hot in Alor Star in March this consecutive days of very hot weather is very unusual.
