Lust

Here is my system...if it don't belong to me? I don't look at it as to desire it! Works pretty good..and always keep the Lord in your every action..I mean if you see a pretty girl? Tell the Lord "hey that's a pretty girl" He often tells me "That's not the one I have for you" so I don't let my thoughts dwell on her beauty or attractive features.
Amen brother mitspa

Aw. I'm so sorry about your miscarriages. The next time your wife is pregnant, try to get her to be in a stress-free zone. It would help the child, and make sure she eats enough for 2 (her and her child).
We didn't know until the actual miscarriage both times, unfortunately.

HT bro, you and your wife shouldn't feel bad, cuz you have two children already locked into Heaven, that knowledge should make you two rejoice, you haven't lost them, they have just gone ahead of you, ...children are a reward from the Lord and you have two already, so like Paul said, make your prayers and requests know to the Lord with thanksgiving and start praying for Father to give you more kids.

Blessings,

Gene

Okay so here is my situation.

I absolutely 100% am waiting for marriage. Meaning no dating, no masturbation, no nothing.... except, I struggle with lust.

I have long been a masturbator, and when I got converted I cut down, but never fully stopped. I stopped off and on for periods of months or weeks, and the last time I did it was 6 days ago. But the problem is that the Holy Spirit has convicted me it is sin, and everytime I do it I pretty much agree that I am going to hell for certain. I pray and cry, and ask for forgiveness. Then I quit doing it, but every day the lust comes and it comes strong. Masturbation is just so attractive to me, because I can look at any woman I want, and feel pleasure. But it's so dangerous and sinful, and I can't call myself a Christian if I do it.

So now I just need help staying away. The Bible says to walk and live by the spirit, but it's so hard when my mind is full of lust!

Is this a demon? Can it be exorcised?

Or am I just not a Christian? I know that is a ridiculous question, of course I am, but why am I so lustful?
You're being too hard on yourself dude. You were made by God to be sexual, and sin is in everyone's blood. God gave forgiveness of your sins through the sacrifice of his son, and it's pretty obvious you are repenting, you aren't going to hell over masturbating. I get where you are coming from though, i'm 19 and have the same problem as you, but you have to understand something, you're only 16, your hormones are going to get even crazier and those girls are going to get even more attractive to you eventually, just realize what your doing and pray for forgiveness. God will help you out, don't worry so much.

Basically bro, have faith. God knows what you're going through, he wants you to succeed over sin, he loves you unconditionally and want you to succeed. Lust isn't something God can't handle, he can handle everything. Read the bible and you will realize this. Put your faith in God in everything, he will always be there for you. I highly suggest if you don't have a bible already or you don't understand it to buy a NIV life application study bible, it will help you in your faith, which is what I truly think is the problem. The reason I recommend the NIV life application study bible is because it explains the bible very well and I promise you will learn a lot from it if you make sure to read and study it daily.

While I agree we should not allow Satan to torment us with guilt, I think it is good to be convicted over our sin. I don't think we should ever get comfortable with sin or simply pray and brush it off. It should break our hearts and drive us to Christ, where forgiveness and restoration await. But like Paul said, we should not just keep sinning to experience God's grace--we should be transformed and purified by His grace.

I commend you for seeking help like you have, I think it is very important. Confessing our sins to one another, getting them out in the open, removes a lot of Satan's ammunition.

I also think it is important to note the difference between conviction and guilt. Conviction is a blessing. It is the Holy Spirit making us aware of our sin and leading us back to Jesus. It hurts to admit our mistakes, especially when it's the same thing for the hundredth time. But we serve a God who is just and forgives us when we repent, casting our sin as far as the east is from the west.

Guilt is one of Satan's most powerful weapons. It aims to keep us away from God and either isolate or alienate us from other Christians. How could I be so stupid to do it again? How can God forgive me over and over for the same thing? Sharing the Gospel after I sin would make me a hypocrite, wouldn't it? How can I even call myself a Christian?

I have struggled with all of those and more, and I started to hide from God. I went to church, but just felt condemned and farther from God than ever sometimes.

So confess your sins and repent. Accept God's forgiveness, and learn going forward.

Trying to split this into multiple posts so they're manageable, hope that's proper forum etiquette.

Anyways, on to application. What can learn from this and what should you change going forward?

When struggling with temptation, I always think it is important to find the triggers and set clear boundaries.

Triggers are what set you off or make you vulnerable. Being up alone too late, looking at things you shouldn't (not necessarily just porn), feeling lonely and rejected. Try to identify when/where you fall to sin most often. And then set up boundaries to keep you out those situations.

Start going to bed earlier so your brain doesn't have time wander. Put your computer in the living room and never use it when you are alone. Find someone in your church or even on here that you can message anytime are feeling tempted.

You can't beat sin by yourself, and you can't hide from it. But you can and should limit temptation whenever possible, while God works on your heart and cleans you from the inside out.

Of course, read the Bible and meditate on it. 1 Corinthians 10:13 and Hebrews 4:12-16 were always very helpful to me.

I have a lot to say because I've fought through the same battle. I only found victory by the grace and power of Jesus, but setting up boundaries was a great help to me.

If you have any questions or want more details please feel free to PM me.

I don't know. Imagining a made up woman is different then wanting to bed one you see on the street.

Cocaine destroys your body and becomes an addiction /Idol. There is plenty about hurting/killing people in the Bible.

I think the only possible justification for masturbation not being sin is if you're married and thinking of your wife.

If you're thinking of anyone else, real or imagined, I would call that lust--which Jesus says is the same as adultery.

Sex is meant to unite two people. Masturbation is a cheap imitation that makes it easier for someone to isolate himself, and I don't think that was ever God's intention.

Some say masturbation is okay if you think about your wife, and that might be true in some cases, but didn't God create sex for two people to experience? Wouldn't masturbation, like homosexuality and sodomy, be a perversion of how God intended sex to be? If your wife is in a position where she can't have sex, you should pray to God about it.

You can masturbate without thinking of anything at all. You don't have to have thoughts going through your head of women to get it done. Your body is designed to react to stimulation regardless of your thoughts.

But is that really what we are supposed to be doing? You are only stimulated if you are touched/aroused. So why would you be touching if not for the pleasure?

God made that stimulation for a purpose, and that pleasure is reserved for your spouse.

I don't know. All I'm saying is that I don't see a biblical basis for saying that masturbation without thinking of a real woman is sinful.

And I agree. Maybe we should be allowed to marry earlier since God put such a strong sex drive in us.

Yea but then it goes back to what are you marrying for. If you are only marrying because of your lust, then it's wrong. Plus I believe people shouldn't have relations until they leave their parents and support themselves.

The only reason kids nowadays are so sexual is because of our culture. If we lived in Eden marriage would be a later desire, because life would be so joyful without it anyways.

One of the main reasons we marry is because of our lust. Obviously if it's not based in love it won't work, but that doesn't mean much. I think we should be out of school and working by 14 or 15. Schools in America are pathetic anyway so it's not like it does any good to stay in there longer. I don't really agree with summer breaks or any of that. If they'd do away with all that then kids could finish really early and move on with their lives.

I don't know if I agree with that. All teenage boys want to see a girl naked. This is pretty obvious even in books from way before our time.

Yea but you dont marry someone just for looks. You have to love them. Their personality and everything.

What about arranged marriages? You don't love that person initially. Love is a choice based on actions. You can love someone that you don't even like.
Well I could be wrong about everything. I'm just waiting till I leave my father and mother to become one flesh with another. I also don't believe arranged marriages are Biblical.

I completely agree with you. I said that's the only possible justification I could accept, but I don't agree with it.

The argument I have heard is what about military or others that have to be away from their spouse for months at a time? I can't judge anyone in that situation, but I wouldn't feel comfortable with it personally.

The most important thing is to follow your convictions if something isn't black and white in Scripture. The Holy Spirit is active in us, and we each have to give account for obeying as we are led by Him.

I think its easy for everyone to see that it falls under the category of sexual imorality. Because the Only moral sex is the sex within marriage. Don't you agree?
