Lightning in slo motion

I have read that lightning doesn't go from the sky to the ground, which is the common understanding, but that rather it goes from the ground to the sky.

This slow motion photography is very interesting, it appears that an electric current originates in the atmosphere, and is scattered downward, very chaotic.

If you watch the lower left hand corner of the film, you will notice that one of the "feelers" seems to make contact with ground, perhaps completes the circut, and then the flow of energy appears to go from that point on the ground upward.

Thank you for posting this Boanerges, I'm going to share this with some electrical engineer friends that I have and I will let you know what they say about that.

NP brother. It is my understanding that it can flow either way.
