Just Hold Me!

What caused a father and seven year old daughter go head on over putting on shoes?

Just Hold Me!

I’m confused
Upset confrontational
Lashing out!
Spiting out anger,
Imprisoned in rebellion
Instead of feeling the love
The world is crushing in on me
So many things are changing
I’m finding it hard to understand,
Finding hard to cope
Trying make sense of it all
To work it all out

Why can’t things just stay the same
Why do I have to change
Why do I have to grow up?

Stop with the words
Just hold me!
I can’t cope with the constant ‘blah’
Words are just enflaming
the fire,
I just want peace and silencer
Shut out ‘yousall’ for a bit

Some ones arms to flee to,
Welcoming with love…
No comments or criticism
Just a safe place to
‘Time out’
It’s not the time for the naughty step
Shouting, gaining the higher ground
Enforcing the rules
Proving who’s right demanding
“You’ll do as I say or else”

I just want to know there’s a constant
Some where away from the angry crowd
Where I can safely
Blow a fuse
Beat my fists
Fall apart
Not cope

We’re all someone’s children
No matter our age
Trying to push the button
Testing the limits,
Testing the unconditional love is still working
No matter what!

Pay the love forward
That Jesus showed on the cross
The love made Jesus to say to the children
‘come into me’

We’re all someone’s sons and daughters
Don’t react with Rebellious hearts
But rest in the arms of Jesus
Where questions are unspokenly answered
Storms quelled,
Peace like a river flows…
A place where the world can’t harm you
Safe in His loving arms
Let our learned behaviour
Reflect Gods patient, gentle, love
Cos Jesus didn’t come for the perfect
But those who fall apart!
