    10 And God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way; and God repented of the evil, that he had said that he would do unto them; and he did it not.

    10 God saw what the people did. He saw that they stopped doing evil things. So God changed his mind and did not do what he had warned. He did not punish them.

    God didn’t change His mind, He knew they would turn that’s why He wanted Jonah to go but Nineveh was not in threat of being destroyed. God wants us likewise to turn our hearts to Him.
