    A springtime storm is under way in the mid-western part of the US bringing heavy rains and thunderstorms to the south and central portions of the Ohio Valley as well as southern Illinois, Kentucky, Tennessee, Missouri, parts of Arkansas, Indiana, Ohio, southern Michigan and western Pennsylvania today into tomorrow. The states of Minnesota, Iowa, Wisconsin and northern parts of Michigan are under a winter storm warning for today and into early Thursday for 4 to 10 inches of heavy, wet snow with winds gusting to over 35 MPH. Travel in the warning areas is not recommended.

    Localized flooding may take place today where the heavy rains are taking place, therefore, stay tuned to your local NOAA Weather broadcast station for official updates and advisories.

  2. Possible Outbreak

    The BHM NWS (Birmingham National Weather Service) has upgrade the 2 day outlook for the Tennessee Valley, Gulf Region, and portions of Mississippi, Alabama, Florida, and Georgia to a MODERATE risk of long lived supercell activity and tornadic activity.

    Please monitor your NOAA weather radios this evening and throughout the day tommorrow to ensure that you are able to take the best possible actions to protect your lives and property.
     
  3. Texas and the lower Mississippi valley have had their alert upgraded from MODERATE to HIGH RISK. Stay safe people!
     
  4. Watches And Warnings Issued

    WATCHES AND WARNINGS ISSUED:

    A severe line of storms is progressing across east Texas at this hour after producing three confirmed tornadoes in the Dallas area. Persons in Louisiana, Arkansas, Mississippi, Alabama, Tennessee, Kentucky, Ohio, Indiana, parts of Missouri, Iowa and Illinois can expect these storms to pass through over the next 12 to 18 hours. The storm will merge this weekend with another weather maker off the New England Coast and will produce a 'Nor-Easter" of monumental proportions.

    Persons throughout the southern plains, deep south, southeast, Ohio and Mississippi Valleys and the Central Atlantic and New England states should be vigilant and monitor local media and the NOAA Weather Broadcast Station near you for official updates and advisories. Take Care and Be Safe.
