In the cool of the day

Thanks to Walker, a line of your poem ‘Waiting For Redemption’
inspired the following:-

In the cool of the day

Does God still pass by in the cool of the day?
Or does He send Jesus to
call you out by name?

Do you look forward to that special time when He calls you out for a chat?
When just you and Him
stroll along, passing time
in the cool of the day?

It not that you haven’t spoken
all day,
Started the day with a word or two and a verse to theme the day,
And those interjections as the day rolls out
Thanked Him for His great provision, at lunch,

But as the day wore on and you’re get up and go started to leave you behind
Did you look forward to
That special time
when you leave the world behind just for a while
it’s just, Jesus and you?

I know He is with us all the time
And is there to talk as soon as one calls out,
He’s got your back
Your wing man
Throughout

But it’s at the time of the day
When He calls you, by name…When He wants to spend time with you

When it’s just Jesus and you,
the coolest time of the day!

Hello brother Alan;

I just got done reading Waiting For Redemption.

I got prayed up this morning but with this bloody cast on my lower left leg for the next 5 1/2 weeks I started feeling discouraged and angry. After reading your line;

Does God still pass by in the cool of the day?
Or does He send Jesus to
call you out by name?

I began to see the bigger picture. When God passes by all of us in the cool of the day it says to me He's Got This. No matter my condition today, or tomorrow, God's Got This.

My spirit was uplifted and now am going to make me another cup of coffee. ☕

God bless you, brother.

Thanks sharing about your accident resulting in being laid up with plaster hope the pain is easing and you don’t get left with any lasting disability which reminded me (totally unconnected to your accident) of Jacob and his dream of the ladder (Genesis 28:10-22)
