Hearing Our Shepherd’s Voice

Discussion in 'Bible Study' started by ChrisRyan, Sep 9, 2014.

  1. Prayer:
We give thanks to You, Lord, for You are good and Your love endures forever. We know that You are with us mighty God, we will not fear. What can man do to us? You, Lord are with us, You are our helper. We take refuge in You Lord and we put our trust in You. Come and speak to us now. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.

    Engagement questions

According to Hebrews 1:1, how did God speak in the past?

According to John 14:9-10, how did God speak during Jesus’ tenure on earth?

We get a glimpse in Hebrews 1:2 of how God speaks now.

However Acts 2:33 makes it crystal clear to us. How does God speak to us now?

Where does the Holy Spirit live? (1 Corinthians 3:16).

Jesus said it best in John 8:47.
Who is able to hear what God says?
What makes it impossible to hear from God?

What confidence does John 10:3-4 give us in hearing the voice of our Shepherd, Jesus?

What does John 14:26 tell us the Holy Spirit will do?

    Journal Response
Were there particular Scripture(s) or statement(s) that spoke to you personally?

Heavenly Father, thank You for our lesson today. We ask that You would give each one doing this study a personal promise from Your Word today that they can hold on to. Like Abraham, we base our faith on Your promises, knowing that You are faithful and good, all the time. Fill us each overflowing with faith, hope and confidence in You, God of our fathers, God of our souls. In Jesus’ name we pray, Amen.

The Shepherd is constantly communicating with us....This verse also promises all who are God's sheep that they not only can but do hear His voice.
My prayer is that i set aside more time to connect with God through his word, worship, prayer and fasting...
