I want to know what others think about this. God divided the human race into nations by language at the tower of Bable. It was, in a sense, a curse upon the human race. From the creation, there is no indication that God had intended there to be divisions among humans. The dividing of people into nations has resulted in wars.
If I am correct in all this, then it seems clear to me that Jesus will offer the tree of life for the purpose of restoring all people under His kingdom. Noted that the nations are gentiles, so the result is there are no Jews or Gentiles; they are all brought back to God through the process of healing the national division.
By the time we get to Revelation 22, it is clear that all people left are saved. So why would people with resurrected bodies need a tree for healing? So having a tree for medicinal purposes seems inconsistent with the whole story.
