Going Through With The Vasectomy

Discussion in 'General Discussions' started by naomanos, Feb 4, 2015.

  1. I have decided to go ahead and get the vasectomy. I will have to put it on my credit card, but it is the only way we are going to do birth control and make sure that we have no more than two kids.

We were at her Ob appointment last Thursday and they asked her if she would want her tubes tied if for some reason a c-section had to be performed to deliver the baby. She said absolutely not and that it is all up to me on getting a vasectomy. So the only way birth control is going to happen is if I do it. So I made the decision to have it done. Just waiting till a few weeks after the baby is born (any day now) so that I am not possibly out of commission due to the vasectomy and unable to help.

    Any encouragement would be appreciated.
  2. I hope and pray for you and your family will be well and bless'd naomanos.
  3. Focus on your new child, for now. Congrats by the way. Brother or sister?
Your wife doesnt want any more? How can you be sure? She may just not want her tubes tied because its invasive surgery...but did she say she only wanted two or is it mutual decision.

Best to check. It may be further down the track she'd like more God forbid anything happen to the two you already have. Dont make her go to anyone else other than you to have them with. I suppose it can always be reversed.
  4. Congrats! I'm glad you're getting over your fear. God bless you both.
  5. Please read this thread before commenting on this thread so you'll have better idea what's going on:

  6. naomanos,
My prayers are with you and your family.
  7. This was her idea for the most part which had become a mutual decision as I get over my fears.

She has multiple sclerosis and doesn't want anymore children.
  8. Allow me to extend a massive congratulations!
Good luck with the vasectomy; allow God to guide you.
  9. Ohh...
Im sorry but this seems sort of like a co-dependent relationship I think you need to concentrate on being the best DAD you can be. What about you? Do you only want two as well?

Going into debt is not good. Im not sure about all the cost etc but...do you men not have self-control when you get married? Well if you only have two make sure you bless them all the more for being your special two everyday.

Praying for your peace of mind. Remember perfect love casts out fear. If you love your wife I suppose you would do anything for her like Jesus gave his life for the church.

I think its pretty sweet. Now I dont understand why God wanted the israelites circumcised..but that must have hurt too I bet (especially when they were adults) so..well I think Jesus understands.

What does your wife say? Is she encouraging as well? My mum had her tubes tied after my twin bros were born. I cant really imagine our family any bigger...(four of us children) but im not knocking big families. These days two is plenty for most people.
  10. I have five other children from a previous non-marital relationship besides our daughter and soon to be son. So I will have seven children total. So I am good with the amount of children that I have.

The good thing about my credit card is that I have 12 months to pay it off without interest. So I will not be putting anymore money out behind the cost of the procedure. Otherwise, I wouldn't put it on my card.

As for e self control. I'm not the only one in this marriage. My wife is 33 and her sexual prime is just now hitting. Where as I have started to slow down. So, she is wanting it more so than I these days. That's not to say that I don't get into the mood as well.

There is also scripture that says to withhold sexual relations only for a time. It does not say to abstain for the rest of your life. Especially, since sex is only permitted in a marriage relationship.
  11. Oh I didnt know. Well seven is a good number!
I meant self control as in, withdrawal or abstaining when she has her time of the month. IDK. Not never having relations again! Lol.
  12. Well thats good about the card. Just be sure you pay it off. Is it really expensive to have the procedure?
  13. I suppose there are things like female IUDs or even condoms. But I suppose you dont want to use those. IDK men seem to not want to bother. Is it cos it feels odd or strange to have a barrier? Sorry if this seems a personal question.

But Id like to know. I mean just for edification. Why dont men want to use them? I know catholics are dead against them or any sort of birth control. I dont know why.
  14. Well we've had this discussion in here before. It's definitely something this forum is very divided on. Some here are very strongly opposed to birth control for a number of reasons and some here find no error in using them.
  15. Im sorry i dont mean to derail the thread. I dont think the op is catholic anyway. But if there is a thread on that topic I'd be interested in reading it and seeing what ppl have to say and also what the Bible says on the matter.
  16. No problem. I think we shut the thread down since the tone went ugly. I'll double check just in case, but I don't think we're interested in continuing the discussion.
  17. If naomanos has no objection.

The subject if birth control is one of those which get heated and go south very quickly. I'd rather not have one started.

  18. I sent this to Lanolin in private as to avoid having another one. I don't think we should do this again. I can't imagine it not getting ugly especially since both sides are so heavily opinionated on it.
