GOD creates evil

  1. GOD creates evil

1 John 1:5 -- This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.

Isaiah 45:7 -- I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.

Does anyone know why GOD creates evil or allows evil things to happen to good people?

If there is no darkness in HIM then why does HE want and desire to allow evil things to happen? For what purpose? A God who is all light could simply administer His righteous justice of light upon evil, not create evil itself. Not make matters worse but stop them in its tracks.

Genesis 2:9 -- And out of the ground made the LORD God to grow every tree that is pleasant to the sight, and good for food; the tree of life also in the midst of the garden, and the tree of knowledge of good and evil.

We also see in the garden of Eden God made the Tree of the knowledge of Good and Evil. So HE did, in fact, create Evil. Its first appearance was on the tree. In the form of a fruit which when digested would permeate the whole system into sin nature and feed knowledge of sin into the brain. Why didn't HE just make a tree of Good knowledge only? Then none of us would have ever had to sin. :( Let's face it -- no one needs evil in the universe. GOD made that clear that evil is useless -- "Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire." If Evil is useless then why did GOD create it in the first place? HE had useless fruit on HIS tree.

    Something I am confused about.
  2. God does not create evil. The evil that surrounds us is man made, and man is the only one to answer. Had God not given us the choice in the beginning, then it might be a totally different situation.

God is not to blame....WE ARE!
  3. I have a quick answer to your question...maybe too simplistic, but here we go anyway...

The absense of light is? dark of course.

God is good...He doesn't merely DO good...He IS good

So the absense of God is the opposite of good...do you follow?

So evil would be the absense of God.

We've separated ourselves from God, so evil corrupts our minds, and we can't comprehend this.
  4. yes God created evil,it,s called free will.if you want to be chained look up satan,he will chain you.
  5. He created a way for us to create evil ourselves, by free will. It's a part of what makes this creation so incredibly complex and beautiful. But any evil and anyone who is evil, is not of Him. That's their choice. Love is only what it is when someone CHOOSES by will to love you right? He wanted that from us.

We are not good enough, only by Jesus being our representative in heaven are we able to be saved and have a place in heaven.
  6. So you mean there is no free will?

So you are saying that free will is evil?

What does everyone think about that? Is that even Biblical?
  7. ^Good posting :)

I think what SC means is not that free will IS evil, but that through free will we have the choice to chose evil or not.

Sometimes you just have to take SC's word one-by-one.:D
  8. yes it is scriptual, scripture tells you about satan and how he was perfect, until iniquaty was found.so we know satan was jealous of God.free will.
  9. free will isn,t evil,but to a individual it can be.
  10. Jesus made everything and without Him was nothing made. Without good and evil there is no choice to be made and thus no reason to respond to loves call.
Everything in creation was made as God spoke it into existance and all things are upheld by the power of His hand. Nothing can exist unless He created it and allowed it:

Joh 1:3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
  11. yes there was m8.satan beguiled eve,eve knew nothing but God,so eve had free will before satan.:)
  12. Agreed. Evil and contrast are necessary for love to be so wonderful. If He wanted love without it being another's choice He could have just enjoyed Himself, and never created us. He takes great pleasure in His own creation, that's what it's for. You can be a part of His pleasure or not, it's up to you. It's win/win though, there is no comparison to describe how obvious a choice it is.
  13. yes i will give my daughters a slap around the head to show them how good God is.:eek:evil is not there to show how good good is,good is God,who shows how bad evil is.:D
  14. Jesus says only God is Good, without Jesus all human beings are dead.so evil with Jesus is the only way.and Jesus decides with God,who is saved or not.even angels will be put through Jesus.:D
  15. I'm not talking about fighting evil with evil. It's about what God wants, and there's something about us loving Him with our (At least what we see as) free will.

Other than that, it's just good over here, which is Him, and evil over there, which isn't. He wants His beings, us, to glorify Him by choosing Him over evil and being His. Without that contrast, there would be nothing to choose and everything would be Him, therefor killing the existence of free will. Without giving His creation free will, there would simply be Him, Himself. There's a joy He gets from us because of the fact that we choose Him. Without evil, there's no choice. Then He wouldn't have that special joy that comes from us CHOOSING Him. This is His work, but He also knows we're within time and it is a battle for us. It's like we're fighting to glorify Him. He can relate to us and know, that even though it's all Him, it FEELS to us like it's hard, and our choice. He sees that, and can find love to appreciate even though it's so impure from being filtered through us. But He knows it's pretty much all we have.

I think He would appreciate someone with $100 giving Him $90, more than someone with $1 Billion, giving Him $10 Million.

We don't have anything much, but such as we have we need to make it His.
  16. The way I see it if the bible says He created evil then He did- all things have a purpose - perhaps this purpose was to test the hearts of men or perhaps there is something more we do not understand.
  17. God is everything.spiritually,is tottally diffrent to bodily.if your spirit is good, then all you do will be in a good way.if your spirit is bad the same things you will manipulate.God is spirit not flesh.i will ask .:)
  18. Hmm...

Hhmmm...I wonder why GOD did not give him a better free will then...
  19. The Bible does say He created evil. I don't know why our previous poster said HE did not when the WORD says HE did...
  20. Who said He didn't? I didn't say that... You accusing me?! :p:D
