Doing everything for Jesus

  1. Colossians 3:17, 23-24 KJV
And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him. [23] And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men; [24] Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ.

In this passage, the Bible is commanding that we do everything for Jesus, or as if we were doing it for Jesus, absence in Jesus' name. This mentality should help us bring out our best quality work always. It should also help keep us in check, moving is away from sin. Finally, it helps us keep our mind constantly focused on Jesus throughout the day.

    1 Corinthians 15:58 KJV
Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.

  2. Yes, indeed. Good practical advice in order to keep our mind and heart on Jesus, even when we need to do mundane day to day things, or things we dislike doing.
