  1. Curious .

Anyone else out there communicating the gospel through thought to thought or heart to heart communication?
  2. While telepathy isn't listed as one of the Gifts of the Spirit, He can act as a go between.

Heart to heart talks are often an effective means of spreading the Gospel.
  3. Thank you HisManySongs,

It may not be listed as an official gift . but perhaps that's because it's something we're all capable of to some extent . Just with increasing awareness .. this increases our trust in the ability . the trust God moves through .

What comes to mind for me is Jesus could read people's minds . the scripture says so every so often and He responded to those thoughts publicly . He said anyone who believes in me will not only do what He has seen me doing but will do greater things because i go to the Father . since the "Jesus seeing Nathaniel at the fig tree" was considered a "work" also (and a similar echo of greater things was used there) . it stands to reason the Holy Spirit can make known to us any of the all things He knows . because "we have the mind of Christ" as the scripture says .

Well . if anyone has experience in this area and has pointers . or just wants to talk about it . and doesn't feel comfortable posting publicly . PM me . and if you are so bold post away . i love talking about this . it is so trinity .

And there are so many possibilities for ministry .
  4. Michael, be very careful. The things of the occult are imitations of the things of God, and an imitation is always designed to look as much as possible like the real thing. As an illustration, I have a vivid memory of one night while I was involved in spiritualism. One of the members of the circle came bursting in waving a Bible opened at 1 Corinthians 12 and saying, "Look! What we do is in the Bible!" The truth was, what we were doing was a very, very long way from the spiritual gifts listed in that passage ... but the undiscerning eye could not tell the difference.

Telepathy (direct thought to thought communication) is one of those areas. It mimics the spiritual gifts of word of knowledge and prophecy, but where those gifts operate though the Holy Spirit, telepathy draws on occult (demonic) sources.

Jesus didn't "read people's minds." Even though He had laid aside His own divine omniscience when He became man, He lived in total dependence upon and harmony with the Holy Spirit, who as God is also omniscient. That same omniscience is what allows the Holy Spirit living within us to give us the spiritual gifts of word of knowledge and prophecy. The difference is, the Holy Spirit will show us only what we need to know in order to pray effectively or otherwise minister to the person concerned. Telepathy, on the other hand, is a kind of mental tresspassing by which we seek to invade their private space.

  5. Michael

One of the Gifts of the Spirit is the Word of Knowledge. This is God revealing something to us and that is what happened in this case. The Father revealed these things to Jesus by the Spirit. However the devil has counterfeits for everything God does because he said he wanted to be like God. And we are not to have anything to do with his counterfeits, such as, mind reading. Some of this also has to do with familiiar spirits and the Bible says have nothing to do with these evil spirits, no spirit, except the Holy Spirit
  6. Biblically speaking, there is indeed such a thing as heart to heart:

As in water face answereth to face, so the heart of man to man

    Pro 27:19

And of course, that is not telepathy.

The heart is really a means of communication:

A good man out of the good treasure of the heart bringeth forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things

    Mat 12:35

And sometimes, it can be read by other people:

Ye are our epistle written in our hearts, known and read of all men

    2 Cor 3:2

So, to answer the question, yes, there are people who communicate the gospel through heart to heart :)
  7. I appreciate all the recent new responses to this thread .

I was just noticing redemptive applications to the problems presented in Matthew 5:28 and 1st John 3:15 . and wanted to have constructive conversations with those who also noticed some of the same things . and wanted to actually do something good about it . i appreciate all your concerns especially yours Lynn. but this world is not going away for me it's just the way i'm wired . so it is best i find a good way to interact with it instead of just hide myself
from it and let myself become so anemic that when those things come back for me they might actually succeed in killing me this time . of which, it would be my own fault .

I know there's a threat out there . and looking to create an atmosphere of love that will cast out all fear regarding such things . if i am to love God with all my mind and strength and heart and soul . and my mind and heart can do these things .. the question is .. if Loving and obeying seem very synonymous or at least one leading to the other in the John stream of Gospel writings .. how can i Love God in context of this capacity? i am sure others ask the exact same question .

so if anyone interested in conversing about proclaiming the Gospel via speaking to people's minds with your mind . PM me . i'd like to converse more and perhaps learn more also .

    God bless .

  8. Lynn, Hmm that's an interesting perspective but .. people have a tendency of stumbling blindly into my "private space" all the time . since there are no walls for me . i figured i'd just do something good with it instead . i live in that realm also in addition to the day to day tedium so just looking for more coping and thriving ideas from those who do and like me, have no choice in the matter .

Besides, quite often "prayer" crosses this line of invading people's space . Quite often i have been the target of people "praying at me" instead of praying to God . I know when it happens . and really ... like really .. you think i don't see that? been violated enough thank you . keeping my eyes wide open .
  9. Michael, the two passages you mention have absolutely nothing to do with telepathy. They are simply saying that the heart condition precedes the action, and God sees the heart condition even if we resist carrying it through to action.

God's Word absolutely forbids us having anything to do with the occult. (Deut. 18:9-12, as well as many other passages.) We can't just make our own rules about things ... when God says "don't touch", our only legitimate response is to not touch.

  10. Colossians 2:20-22 (New International Version)

20Since you died with Christ to the basic principles of this world, why, as though you still belonged to it, do you submit to its rules: 21"Do not handle! Do not taste! Do not touch!"? 22These are all destined to perish with use, because they are based on human commands and teachings.

1 John 4:15-18 (New International Version)

15If anyone acknowledges that Jesus is the Son of God, God lives in him and he in God. 16And so we know and rely on the love God has for us.

God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in him. 17In this way, love is made complete among us so that we will have confidence on the day of judgment, because in this world we are like him. 18There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.

    Romans 8:14-16 (New International Version)

14because those who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God. 15For you did not receive a spirit that makes you a slave again to fear, but you received the Spirit of sonship. And by him we cry, "Abba, Father." 16The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God's children.

Actually i have been violated in those ways . and had to fight against it . though you may not read those passages literally . i have experienced them literally . If you really wanted to get deep into what God replaces this "occult" world with . We would need to speak about applying the trinity in daily life .

Mature love casts out all fear . When Jesus said that i will build my church and the gates of hell will not prevail against it . it did not mean we hide inside the walls of the kingdom . but it is us who prevail against them . what God is doing through me is removing their habitat or the ability to habitate . God redeemed me in this way . and so i will also be this way in the space that He has given to serve .. no matter how weird it may seem,
as He lives through me .

A question i would ask: is there a single thing . or place in creation God did not create? was it not all very good in the beginning? i am acting out of trust in this principle here and letting God work through that trust .

I recognize the signs . people are affected by this "inner" world and participate in it daily whether they are aware of it or not . it is not an occult world . that's like saying Toronto is a rioting city or the internet is a cesspool of corruption and evil . I refuse to let some old religion take monopoly over what God created . if God created it very good in the beginning . then i will let Him show me what was so darn pleasing to Him about it back then and thus apply Godliness in it .

I will continue the work of removing the habitation of the enemy and surrender it to God . sounds something like what Jesus did and did not only command to do but assumed we would do .

Hope you are well in receiving this transmission

    stay blessed .

  11. I do that at work sometimes. I don't call it "heart to heart" but what you call it doesn't change what it is.
We have some residents who can’t talk, and a few who can, but they all have the mind of a child. What I do is talk to their spirit from my spirit. We all have a spirit and we can all use our spirit to communicate with someone else’s spirit.
Remember, we are spiritual beings with a human body, not human beings with a spirit. Why shouldn’t we communicate using our spirit? Our spirit is supposed to have authority over our body and soul. This can be done verbally with most people, but can also be done silently.

One of our residents gets angry and yells a lot. The other staff can’t quiet him down. When I go into the room, all I do is look him in the eyes and start to “talk” to him silently. I call his spirit to attention and remind his spirit that it is the head and not the tail. I bless his spirit, tell him God loves him… I say many different things. The best part is, he quiets down immediately… EVERY TIME.
The others try to talk to him and comfort him every way imaginable. But I just have to look him in the eye and talk to him silently.

I learned a lot of that from Arthur Burk. You should check out his website.

  12. Ah yeah i've heard of him . my discernment always tends to tell me "not for me" whenever i focus on his name for any period of time . not sure why .

but that talking to people's spirit thing . sounds like something i'm learning to do right now . mostly to set boundaries at the moment . but hopefully to have more meaningful conversations in the future . especially with complete strangers .
  13. I’ve always seen him as a straight forward, biblical teacher. Someone who does not keep God in a box. I’ve never heard anyone say anything bad about him.
Of course God may have you on a different path right now. There are some good teachers that I just don’t listen to very often. Not because I can‘t learn anything from them, but because if I listen to too many different teachers it can get a little confusing.
It’s like eating a good 7 course meal. It’s all good, but if you try to put it all in your mouth at the same time, you’re going to choke on it.
  14. I wouldn't think anything be too wrong with him . it just may be God has me on a different path of inquiry . from what i understand we have a similar teaching from further back . i.e. 5-fold ministry .
  15. I'm reminded of a childhood chorus which is akin to conveying the Gospel other than in words

"May the beauty of Jesus be seen in me.
All his love and compassion and purity.
O, thou Spirit Divine, all my nature refine.
Till the beauty of Jesus is seen in me"

Linking that with the words of St Francis af Assisi

"Preace the Gospel by all means, but only use words as a last resort"

And whilst on the subject has anyone noticed that If you bring a third person into things and direct your message to that third person, then the other person is much more responsive than if the message had been directly to him?

  16. Ah yes the winning without words . that Assisi saying is one of my favs . and i'll need to absorb that third person thing . it's not connecting to any memories yet .
