Coffee on the Porch

My cousin Bubba and I was havin' some coffee on the front porch when a truck went by loaded up with rolls of sod.

Bubba said to me, “I’m a-gonna do that when I win the lottery.”

“Do what?”, I asked.

Bubba said, “Send my lawn out to get mowed.”

Might a-wuz... Before Bubba got married, he broke up with a moonshiner girl friend, but to this day, he loves her 'still'.

Impatient people sometimes buy pre-seeded rolls of lawn instead of planting seed. They sometimes call these pre grown pieces “sod”.

When it arrives you roll it out like a living carpet.


The joke is that “Bubba” saw a delivery truck drive by and “misinterpreted” what he saw as that someone was sending out their lawn to be mowed and manicured and then returned and replanted, vs. cutting it in place as normal.
