Cleanse me, and i shall be clean
There is a beautiful verse that the Psalmist wrote in Psalm 51, verse 7. It reads: Ps. 51:7 “Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean: wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.”
When we ask God to cleanse us, He does. He washes us and purifies us, even more so then we could ever do for ourselves.
What does the cleansing? It’s the Spirit of the Lord, the Holy Spirit.
Titus 3:5 “Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;”
The Holy Spirit, like water, washes us and renews us on a daily basis, as we come to Him. We too can say with the Psalmist:
Psalm 51:5-7 “Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me.Behold, thou desirest truth in the inward parts:
and in the hidden part thou shalt make me to know wisdom.
Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean: wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow.”
Cleanse me, Lord Jesus, and I shall be clean!
God bless.
