City of Houston demands pastors to turn over sermons

  1. It is why the first Amendment was made and the second to defend the first...

    Amendment I
Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.

    Amendment II
A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.

Looks like it's breaking the first Amendment just by asking for it. Whoever asked for it should be fined and dismissed.

  2. 100% agree with you. I bet you the government (city, county, state, federal) have people who sit and listen to sermons just to try and use it against them at some point.

  3. We must write our protests to our Senators and Congresspersons NOW

  4. I'm more that surprised it's happening in Texas than I am surprised it's happening at all.
  5. Is this requirement to hand over sermons before or after they are delivered to the congregations?
I agree that the move by the Mayor is wrong, I just wonder, maybe if the sermons are speaking God's truth then if the Mayor won't come to Church to hear the truth, then this is one way the truth can reach her ears. They are preaching God's truth ?
Matt 10:18. and you will be dragged before governors and kings for my sake, to bear witness before them and the Gentiles.

  6. News like these make me feel situation in countries like India and US are becoming almost same!
  7. I have ling believed that the tax exempt status of bible based churches has a shelf life on it. I have since come to believe that the scenario which produces the disqualification will involve homosexuality.

While I have never understood how two foundational freedoms can produce restricted freedom, I am convinced this is the path we are on.

I hope I am mistaken, but I suspect we will see more of this kind of stuff with ever increasing regularity.

  9. Why do they want the sermons?
  10. This is evil. Even satanic sermons should be left off of the table for taking.

  11. Yep its happening all over. A few months ago, a minster of my denomination, who held the office of Health Director is Pasadena was fired because of his religious beliefs on homosexuality. All foretold in scripture.
  12. Lord, how can we ever oppose
the lies that keep our eyelids closed?
Father, open our eyes that we may see...

  14. Correct. You see, IMO when sermons condemning homosexuality are removed then how long before Jesus will be removed from the cross???
  15. To remove mention of or condemnation of homosexuality. The mayor of Huston is a lesbian!!!
  16. I have a feeling that you just may be right.

Daniel spoke of the coming Antichrist to......."Not have the love of women". He seems to indicate that the A/C will be a homosexual.
