Armageddon....

Discussion in 'Bible Study' started by Wheelz, Jan 2, 2014.

  1. Armageddon is yet to come….but not in the way most people think.

If we look at verse 15 in Revelation 16, we see He comes as a thief….unexpectedly….and perhaps in not a manner that most are looking for. A time is coming when He will open up the Scriptures to our understanding through the voice of His people who will be sent out to speak His words to others’ ears. This is going to be like the utmost episode of “Undercover Boss” where the CEO disguises himself and goes to work seemingly as a new employee in his own company in order to assess the employees and the business .

These people (new employees) will be considered “strangers”….and we are not to forget to entertain strangers….letting brotherly love continue at all times. If we forget, then we are found “sleeping” at the visitation of our Lord.

Blessed is he that watches…or stays awake….and keeps his garments. This is saying, blessed are those who will do His commandments (at the most critical time especially)….when He comes to open up the Scriptures to our understanding even if that person He uses appears to be a “stranger”.

We are to let brotherly love continue at all times….this is staying “awake” and keeping our “garments”…else, if we do not awake to His righteousness, we will behave badly towards what we will hear….His disclosure…His “revelation”. We walk in nakedness and our shame is exposed when we forget to do His Word: have love for one another. He will reveal what is the hearts of men….taking the cover off…by how they will respond to the hearing of the Word of Truth. Hypocrisy….the shame… will be revealed for all to see.

    Revelation 16:15-16 KJV
    (15) Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed is he that watcheth, and keepeth his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame.

And He shall gather them together into a place called “Armageddon”. This “gathering” is not in a literal sense but one of gathering the hypocrites who will fight against His disclosure of the Scripture of Truth. This war is a war of words….Truth versus error….where the hypocrites will resort to evil speaking and bad behavior. They will be gathered together by their common response to His words: in their bad behavior .

    (16) And he gathered them together into a place called in the Hebrew tongue Armageddon.

Again, we see Jesus addressing this very thing in Matthew when we find that the evil servant shall say in his heart that “My Lord delays His coming”. The evil servant will not recognize the coming of the Lord who will use His servants (“strangers”) to speak His words to their ears. Instead, they will begin to “smite” with an evil tongue upon His servants and will revel in others who will do the same….eating and drinking with those who will be “drunk” in their pride and wrath. They will have totally missed the mark of having love for His servants who will be sent to them to speak His words of life and spirit. Their shame will be revealed for all to see. The hypocrisy will be revealed.

    Matthew 24:48-51 KJV
    (48) But and if that evil servant shall say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming;

    (49) And shall begin to smite his fellowservants, and to eat and drink with the drunken;
    (50) The lord of that servant shall come in a day when he looketh not for him, and in an hour that he is not aware of,

He shall cut them asunder and appoint them their portion with the hypocrites…..Armageddon. The gathering together of the hypocrites after they have been found behaving badly towards His words….walking “naked” in their shameful bad behavior…is Armageddon. There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth. The tongue is a fire….a world of evil…and it will bring wrath and troubles to those who will not recognize His coming.

    (51) And shall cut him asunder, and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

“Armageddon” = “mountain of gathering”. The multitude of people gathered together and trampled upon each other in Luke 12. Beware of the leaven…the rising….of the Pharisees which is hypocrisy. It will rise like a mountain of those who say they know God but their actions will speak otherwise. The hypocrites will be gathered together against the disclosure of Jesus for they will not be able to stand what He will say as it will contradict their own religious thoughts and ways. They will not lose their own religious thinking to save their lives. His ways and thoughts are higher than our own. Why seek to defend our own thoughts and ways against the mastery of the knowledge of our Lord? We should consider our own religious things as “dung” and a loss for the excellency of the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

    Luke 12:1-3 KJV

    (1) In the mean time, when there were gathered together an innumerable multitude of people, insomuch that they trode one upon another, he began to say unto his disciples first of all, Beware ye of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy.

Blessed are those who will watch….letting brotherly love continue towards “strangers” who will speak His words to their ears. Those who will forget to have love will not keep their tongues bridled and will speak out in their wrath and envy thereby exposing what is in their hearts in the revelation of Jesus. The living words of Jesus will pull the cover off of men’s hearts who will reveal what is in them by their bad mouthing what they will hear thereby exposing their hypocrisy.

    (2) For there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; neither hid, that shall not be known.
    (3) Therefore whatsoever ye have spoken in darkness shall be heard in the light; and that which ye have spoken in the ear in closets shall be proclaimed upon the housetops.

Again, the mountain gathering of people in their hypocrisy will be like the swine feeding themselves on the mountain. The devils entered into the swine and the herd ran violently down a steep place into the lake...swift destruction.

    Luke 8:30-33 KJV
    (30) And Jesus asked him, saying, What is thy name? And he said, Legion: because many devils were entered into him.
    (31) And they besought him that he would not command them to go out into the deep.
    (32) And there was there an herd of many swine feeding on the mountain: and they besought him that he would suffer them to enter into them. And he suffered them.
    (33) Then went the devils out of the man, and entered into the swine: and the herd ran violently down a steep place into the lake, and were choked.

Blessed are those who will “watch”…..letting brotherly love continue. For those who do not watch will be gathered together into a place called Armageddon…..the gathering of the hypocrites who say they love God but do not keep His commandments and will behave as a sow loving to wallow in the mire of their sins. They will gather together who behave in the same way against the Truth.

    Revelation 16:14-16 KJV
    (14) For they are the spirits of devils, working miracles, which go forth unto the kings of the earth and of the whole world, to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty.
    (15) Behold, I come as a thief. Blessed is he that watcheth, and keepeth his garments, lest he walk naked, and they see his shame.
    (16) And he gathered them together into a place called in the Hebrew tongue Armageddon.

The hypocrites will profess they know God but in their works shall deny Him. The swine will say they love God but will not consider what He says and will be abominable and disobedient and unto every good work that they will do …rejected.

    Titus 1:15-16 KJV
    (15) Unto the pure all things are pure: but unto them that are defiled and unbelieving is nothing pure; but even their mind and conscience is defiled.
    (16) They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.

He will make all things new. His words are true and faithful….and His interpretation of the Scriptures trumps our very own as He will change them in a twinkling of an eye. This is why we are to overcome when we will hear His words that are true and faithful and not seek to defend our own. But the unbelieving of His words and the abominable and the murderers…those who hate their brothers….and the sorcerers…those who handle the Word of God deceitfully…..and the idolaters……the covetous….all liars….those who say they love God but do not do His commandments shall have their part in the lake of fire. The tongue is a fire and will bring swift judgment upon those who will behave in such ways in response to the revelation of Jesus who will expose the hypocrisy of men.

    Revelation 21:5-8 KJV
    (5) And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.
    (6) And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely.
    (7) He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.
    (8) But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.
