Hello from Scotland everyone. Just a short message to firstly apologise for our lack of input over the past couple of months, I've been busy writing, studying and preaching and I hope to be back fellowshipping with you all soon. I just wanted say a big thank you to you all for the kindness, joy and fun we've experienced here on CFS over the course of this year including the healing of my two year old daughter by the prayers here. We've had quite a difficult time as a family and the fellowship we're received here has not only encouraged us but strengthen both myself and Sharon as a couple. We love you all and we are eager to get back to regular fellowship in the New Year but in the meantime, God bless you all, I hope that you all have a great festive season and are looking forward to a new year in he Lord....a wee mini-sermon below for you to enjoy, hopefully it will be an encouragement! "...when Satan tempts me to despair and tells me of the sin within, upward I look and see him there, who put an end to all my sin, because a sinless saviour died, my sinful soul is counted free, because it pleased the lord on high, to punish him and pardon me..." Breastplate of Righteousness - The Righteousness of Jesus Christ himself - This beautiful aspect of the Armour of Light is seated, not almost or partly but fully, on the righteousness of Jesus Christ Himself. His righteousness, not our own, is the power behind the breastplate and it's function is to protect our tender hearts. Many misunderstand what it means to put on righteousness thinking that it means right living, thinking and speaking but this is a grave error rendering the breastplate ineffective. Now, I'm a Christian Father, Husband and Pastor and if I were to use these aspects of my own life to declare myself righteousness in the eyes of God, then the devil's darts would hit their mark every time! Here's why - No matter how hard I try, I will never be a perfect father, husband or pastor, I will always be imperfect now if I was to use these imperfect aspects to stand on, as my righteousness, then the enemy will find every hole and chink to accuse e and drag me down into darkness but, if I use the righteousness of Jesus, His right-standing before God, His favour give to Him by the Father then there is simply no way of a dart penetrating my heart. The devil might find things to accuse me of but he has nothing on Jesus Christ, He did no wrong, there is no unrighteousness in Him and when I gave my life to Him Jesus said, "Here Steven, use my righteousness as a breastplate son" Friend let me assure you today the only righteousness we have within us is that of Jesus Christ himself and to say otherwise is a complete fabrication of the truth. There is nothing good in our flesh, nothing, only Jesus righteousness can have us in the position of being right-standing before God and let me assure you, it's more that acceptable to Him making you, more than acceptable to him!. "...when Satan tempts me to despair and tells me of the sin within, upward I look and see him there, who put an end to all my sin, because a sinless saviour died, my sinful soul is counted free, because it pleased the lord don high, to punish him and pardon me..."
