Another year of Sunday School, thank you Lord!

  1. Sunday School is over and, as always, it was a wonderful experience.

This year I worked with kids (ages 14-16) from poor neighborhoods, these are tough kids and it wasn't always easy but I'm really happy with the results. I thank God for this, this is entirely His doing.

I can't thank you enough for your help, especially Cturtle who recommended the wonderful Dreamworks movie Joseph King of Dreams.

We ended the year with a ride on the local auto rickshaws (tuk-tuks), it was a whole new experience for them and we all had a great time.

This was only my second year as a Sunday School teacher and there's a lot I need to improve, may the Holy Spirit guide me and help me.

As always, all tips and suggestions (e.g. activities, websites, biblical games) are more than welcome.

  4. Flavio - bless you and the important work you do. I can't imagine some of the challenges you must face working with at risk youth. It can't be easy and I certainly know that not everyone is cut out for this type of ministry. You are a remarkable blessing to those youths - through you they are learning the most valuable thing ever to be learned - the Word of God. Thank you for your service and may the Lord bless your future endeavors in ministering to this special group of young people.

  6. Flavio, Years ago when I was young I was coordinator of children's and youth ministry in a small country church in rural Alaska. So, have experienced both the challenges and the joys of that ministry. And I also have worked with youth living in poverty in a Christian mission school of mainly Alaskan natives who were flown in from the bush (or rural) villages. God bless you as you endeavor to serve Him by serving youth. Keep up the good work but continue to pray daily for the Lord's guidance and strength.
