An honest question to cessationists

  1. Again - I refer anyone interested to watch the 19 hour Strange Fire Conference. It's enlightening and scriptural. I've said my piece - like Major, I'm done.

  4. I am not in favour of the purpose of that conference. It's a cessationist platform.

  7. Obviously Jesus here is talking about the "new birth" as he refers to the water that he will give man will result in "a well of water springing up into everlasting life"

Joh 4:13.. Jesus answered and said unto her, Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again:
Joh 4:14.. But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.

Here Jesus is NOT talking about the "new birth" but about someone who is already a believer. Jesus clearly says, "But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive:". Those who are already a believer should receive!!! Receive what? The Holy Spirit.

Joh 7:37.. In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink.
Joh 7:38.. He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.
Joh 7:39.. (But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.)

There is a huge deference between a "springing up of a well" as in the new birth, to a "flow of rivers of living water" by being baptized in the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues!!

  9. Proves that Paul was a good ol' southern fella - "y'all" :D But in the Greek it's "yins", plural form of "y'all" :p

  10. No yins is what you do when you grab your fish you yins over the side of the boat

  11. Naw... it's "How yins do'in?" :p

  12. You are kidding.....right????

All the way back to the very beginning, Scripture is ALL that I used my brother. Elsewise it is all opinions.
