2006 Hurricane Season The very quiet 2006 Atlantic Hurricane season ended officially on November 30. In April of 2006, some 'professional' forecasters were calling for another doom and gloom season similar to 2004 and 2005, when the effects of several major hurricanes were felt along the Gulf Coast and the southeastern coast of the U.S. including Ivan and Katrina. Our amateur weather analysis group is already studying the potential for the 2007 season and will make announcements regarding those potentials starting in Late April or early May of 2007. In the mean time, this area will be used for the posting of hurricane and tropical storm preparedness details and safety related procedures and planning; those things that you should have in place if your coastal area is at risk for Tropical Storms and Hurricanes. Please watch for those informational posts in early 2007. Thank you.
