1 Kings 4:1-6 King James Version (KJV)

4 So king Solomon was king over all Israel.

2 And these were the princes which he had; Azariah the son of Zadok the priest,

3 Elihoreph and Ahiah, the sons of Shisha, scribes; Jehoshaphat the son of Ahilud, the recorder.

4 And Benaiah the son of Jehoiada was over the host: and Zadok and Abiathar were the priests:

5 And Azariah the son of Nathan was over the officers: and Zabud the son of Nathan was principal officer, and the king's friend:

6 And Ahishar was over the household: and Adoniram the son of Abda was over the tribute.

Chapter 4
1 Back when King Solomon was reigning in IsraEl, 2 these are the men who were with him and who were in charge:
· AzariAh (the son of ZaDok) was the [High] Priest
· 3 EliAm and AhiJah (the sons of Saba) were his scribes
· JehoShaphat (the son AchiLud) was the recorder
· 4 BenaiJah (the son of JehoiAda) was the commander-in-chief of the army
· ZaDok and AbiAthar were the Priests
· 5 AzariAh (the son of Nathan) directed his staff
· ZaboUth (the son of Nathan) was the king's right-hand man

1 This was the last king to reign over all of Israel his entire reign he son would cause the divide of the kingdom by not listening to Godly counsel.


2-6 Solomon got to know the religious leaders these men were not chosen by him but were Levites chosen by God. Solomon would have chosen his army and the leaders of it. Solomon was a friend to Nathan the religious leader this may have been the same man that was the prophet would went to David.
