Rom 3:28 Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law.

2 Cor 11:13-15 "For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into apostles of Christ. And no wonder! For satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light. Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also transform themselves into ministers of righteousness, whose end will be according to their works."
Rev 2:2 "I know your words, your labor, your patience, and that you cannot bear those who are evil. And you have tested those who say they are apostles and are not, and have found them liars;"

It is important to keep in mind that, when Paul talks about "works of the law", he is really talking about the Law of Moses, which was not necessary for Christians to follow. He often had to speak againt Jewish Christians who insisted that Gentile converts to Christianity follow Jewish customs.
