Question I have a question for the staff...

It is really simple, I think...

Why is this forum only for Christians?

I am curious.

Thanks for the replies.

God bless,
Johnathan

CFS was initially open to everyone. During that time there were many non-Christians trying to promote their teachings to Christians. There were some heated debates and attempts to abuse the private messaging facility. A few Christians advised me to convert the board to a Christian's only community and I thought that was the best solution to all those issues. Even now, we still have trouble makers registering once in a while but the staff response is very quick.

Now, the question is: How do we reach non-Christians? I haven't found an answer to that question. May be we could build a separate website for outreach purposes.

It is possible, if the forum staff wanted, to make one section available to non-registered users to post in. Then non-Christians (and even Christians) could come ask questions in one isolated place without the need to register (where they would abuse PMs or promote things in all the private forums). This way also, the staff could monitor the things being posted in that one area that it was within some sort of guidelines for non-registered posts. I think (but I'd have to check) that the section could also be set up so that all posts are moderated even though they are by non-registered users.

Anyhow, just a suggestion.

Jeff;
First I would like to thank you personally.

I enjoy sharing ideas on internet forums. In my line of work, it gives me an opportunity to take a quick break from time to time, catch up on news and events, and to learn from others.

I recently found this site, and it has been the only Christian forum I frequent since I was guided to it. I look forward to making friends here. The people on this web site are kind, friendly, and respect the views of one another.

I have been on other sites where even the mention of God is not permitted. Or if I were to mention creation, I would be attacked by people who wanted to argue that the Bible is a fairy tale, etc.

My point is that I have found this site to be a very welcome oasis. I work with and reach out to non Christians every day. This is a safe haven for me during my working hours.
I thank you for that.

You have a very difficult decision to make. You are in my prayers. May God guide and direct you.

I know that He will.

And again. Thank you.

We indeed had a section here once before for non believers and it was pretty rough- there were people constantly attacking and mocking our faith in Christ and His Word.

That is definitely a good suggestion.

I agree that it can be hard to stem the falsehoods and the dangerous things of the world out of our faith and way of life.

I was curious because of the question already asked:

"How do we reach non-Christians?"

Although we have to respect others and their opinions we also have to protect ourselves.

For instance, on my forum there was a specific person that tried to teach that the Jesus that we know is not the correct Christ, that Yeshua and Jeuss are two different persons. We know that they are one and the same as Christ and God are always the same. (Yeshua is the name for Jesus in Hebrew, BTW) I let him ramble on my site, because I respected his opinion. However because he defied the rules several times he was eventually banned. That is how I designed the rules, you have to respect the other's opinion no matter what they believe. How else are we to reach out to others if we do not value their opinion?

Although Christ didn't completely down the Pharasee's He didn't interrupt them. He proved them wrong by going to scripture. By showing them their faulisies and their wrongs. They were not willing to listen.

On ym forum I had people ask why I didnt ban him sooner. It was because of this. We have to 'tolerate' their words so as they would hear ours, or I should say His! People will only listen if they feel respected, Jesus did this, He respected them because He loves them.

I will not post the link here. I am not trying to violate any rules or anything with promoting my own site. Also, the things that this person said could be damaging to the young Christian.

God bless,
Johnathan

There are many forms of evagelism but this currently isn't one of them- it is indeed an oasis fo peace for the brethren to be loved, built up and edified- my expierience with the other (non christian) portion of this forum was that it was a best chaos and 99% of the people who came were agenda driven antichrist types- I still want to reach the 1% but hopefully that can be achieved without trainwrecking the fellowship that we can expierience here-
