I remember when my mom had a scrub board and our knuckles would get sore from rubbing the clothes on the board. And she had a wringer machine that she put the clothes through to take out the excess water but I could never use it cause she was afraid I would be caught up in it. Then of course there was the proper way to hang them outside.

I remember when we would sit under the old oak tree in the back yard making ice cream with the old crank style ice cream maker. Mom would prepare the ingredients in the container. Dad would place the container in the old wooden ice cream maker, connect the handle, pour in the rock salt and cover the top with a blanket. Each of us 8 kids would take turns sitting on the blanket while someone else turned the handle. It was one of our favorite times together as a family. And, what DELICIOUS ice cream. YUM!

Violet..... You certainly stirred up all my old memories. Hope I'm not taking up too much space.
I remember when Halloween used to be a fun time and not an evil time like it is now. We used to dress up in any clothes we could find around the house and just visit the neibours that we knew on our street. There was one paticular lady that we used to visit first cause she made Yummy popcorn balls. But we would have to sing a song first. I remember when my brother as a teen worked after school in a drug store and he delivered people's perscriptions to their home via his bycicle.

Anyone remember Drive-in Movies at $5.00 a carload and that included the 2 in the trunk. LOL
