Vista takes some getting used to Duran. My father in law purchased a pc with Vista and asked me to show him how it works- it turned out we had to learn together as it seem completely different.

Ha ha ..... You're right about that .... They give it to you in one hand and take away in the other.

The G. S. T. rebate that I get is gov't sales tax that I pay on all that I buy through out the year. So yah, you think you are getting money but in essence it was yours in the first place .... Who do they think they are fooling?

Two years ago, my friend, Preston, had a shaggy doggy named Henry. He was one of those weenie dogs and he had something else in him too.

Our "reservation dogs" which can be known to be brutal, beat Henry up and he passed away.

Henry was an old doggy, and Preston had had him for quite some time. He spoiled that little dog, oh! Henry used to think he was a little boy! I swear! He hated my guts, too. But towards the end, me and Henry got to be friends. He used to go with me on my jogs. I'd go hiking and Henry started going with me, so I'd have to pack extra water.

Anyway...Preston is going to get a new Henry with his stimulus check!

I'm glad for him. But I think it's time for me to build a fence around my yard.

Heavenly - out. His name is Spuds MacKenzie. He cries all night. Do you hear me? ...all...night.

I go to sleep pretty early, crying puppy or not. Last night about 8:30, there was a bang at the door. BANGBANGBANG!!!!

I bolted out of bed and ran to the other end of the house to answer it. It was a group of kids. "Your puppy's crying!" the little girl in front told me.

HEY...we're getting another stimulus!????

I paid the (some of the) taxes that I owe with our check. As a minister, I am self employed, in other words, I owe lots of money at the end of the year.

Boanerges made a great point,
Quote:
In the USA all the government can do is to give you your own money back. They have nothing to "give" unless they first take it from someone.
Fuel prices here in the US have quadrupeled in the last 3 years, and no, it has nothing at all to do with the war in Iraq or any of that other alphabet channel talking head rhetoric.

Fuel is taxed heavily in the United States, as is everything else. With the increase in the cost of fuel, the cost of shipping also goes up. That means we are also paying higher prices, due to taxation , for copper, food, transportation, you name it, and the federal government makes the biggest profit from the taxation of all of these resources.

I will follow the "proper" example of Pastor Gary, and I will not mention any political affiliations, but the stimulus checks are indeed a slap in the face to all Americans.

It's just sickening.

Imagine someone sticking a gun in your back, stealing your wallet, and then giving you back $20.00 from it to take a cab home.
(Would you thank them for the kind gesture?)

Interestingly enough, and this proves my point, this is an election year. Our elections are in two months, and guess what???

Are we still at war? Yep.
Have the troops come home? Nope.
Can we drill for our own oil? Nope.
Have we built any refineries? (the real problem) Nope.

But guess what? Gas has gone from $4.50 a gallon, to under $3.50 a gallon in the last month. And will continue to decrease up to and untill the November elections.

God is being stripped from our schools and from our government, some states are no longer even allowed to teach creationism any longer in public school. Major US food corporations are building Islamic prayer rooms, yet Christian prayer in a public workplace is a violation of the "civil" rights of non-Christians.

It is called taxation without representation, and with all due respect to my beloved brothers and sisters in England, this is exactly what our forefathers fled, fought, and died to prevent from happening here.

........WHEW!!! (Sorry for the rant.) Well, anyway,.... THAT, is what I did with my check......

I paid some of my taxes.

There, there...! *pats you on the back* Just let it all go now. Sometimes it's good for us, my friend.

I heard some people complaining that there's no way to refuse the stimulus checks. I stepped in and told them...hey! That's not fair to you or me!

If you don't want your stimulus check, then you should have the right to cash it, stick it in a white envelope and mail it to me! That way you get your wish and I get mine!

*giggles*

Hmmm ..... Is that incentive for that province . I heard that everyone got $100 for a gas rebate and even the people who do not have gas in their home or drive a car . The only thing I get and I should not say only cause it is something is a rebate for the GST.
