A fairly strong low pressure system is gaining strength in the central plains. This system will produce rains and wind in many midwestern states and southern and eastern Canada with snow in the upper latitudes and higher elevations. Since this time of the year is a heavy travel period because of the Thanksgiving Holiday, most modes of travel in the center of the US will be affected by this weather system.
