Default Info for April 24 - 27, 2007 Central US

Severe springtime storms have developed in the southern and central plains of the US in the past 36 hours. Persons in these areas should remain alert for the potential of severe thunderstorms, hail, high winds and some tornadic activity.
The same areas of the US that were affected by significant storms last week are at risk again this week and persons in these areas should monitor local Weather Broadcasts for official updates, advisories, watches and warnings. If you do not own a NOAA Weather Alert Radio, this might be a good time to purchase one.
The states which will be affected over the next several days are: Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Nebraska, South Dakota, Missouri, Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Tennessee, Kentucky, Iowa, Illinois, southern Wisconsin, southern Michigan, southern Minnesota, Indiana and Ohio. Also, the southeastern states, Georgia and northern Florida, remain under a Red Flag wildfire threat due to significant drought conditions.
Be alert and be safe!

"THIS IS NOT AN OFFICIAL ADVISORY. These updates and advisories are based upon information from our own computer models, NOAA, Local Weather Data Centers, deep water Buoy Data, and other publicly available sources. FOR THE SAFETY OF YOUR PROPERTY AND PERSON, please refer to your Local, State, and Federal Authority updates for Official Advisories and Orders. For up to the minute advisories and official updates, it is essential that you monitor your local Emergency Government, NOAA and Local Media Broadcasts. Please do not make personal safety decisions based upon information presented here in this Unofficial Advisory."

As the line moves through, storms are firing ahead of the dryline. The range is significant, however, severe activity will be locally focused during the night hours.

Our current NEXRAD is:

You can see two significant systems, and overnight and through the day tomorrow the possibility for much of the Ohio and Tennessee Valley regions remains.

Stay careful and have your NOAA weather radios handy.
