The Blessing of God's Creating Birds

bet your house looks beautiful. A paint job does so much for the house and brightens it up. I hope the birds will keep coming back to your yard...... i knwo this will sound like a child's comment, but....... i wish animals could talk.. hahaha
Hi CD, we didn't have all the bushes cut down, only one, and this morning I replaced it with a nice big potted plant. The other bushes are still there but cut back and considerably smaller. The birds haven't left us..they are still feeding on places where I put small piles of seed on my deck so that I can watch them out the window. I have a couple feeder plates on our deck table as well. There is a roof over my deck so the rain won't wash things away although we haven't had enough here lately to water things let alone wash seeds away. And there is still the big feeder and bird bath in our back yard as well as a feeding area on the side of the house. I can see them from four and sometimes five windows. It's just that the nice bush in front of the kitchen window is considerable cut back but it was way overgrown. It will grow back and look much better.

blessings..

what's for breakfast? bird seed? bread? my backyard is all cement... how do i get he birds to come back to me after i remove this tree from my yard?

The easiest thing to do is put out a bird feeder. Birds will keep returning to the same spot expecting something.. So just keep feeding them.

(Perhaps you could feed them all the white bread you don't eat LOL) You health nut:D

PS I'm also a bit of a health nut, so my birds get wholemeal/seeded etc (maybe they secretly long for a baguette)...

Maybe a bit late on this thread but we have flightless birds in nz and I have just visited an island sanctuary that had a family of takahe there theres only 300 left in the wild. They are cute and make honking noises.

God made all kinds of birds its fascinating to see and hear his creation. People ask me what my favourite music is and They expect me to say 'pop' or 'justin beiber' or 'classical' but I just say 'birdsong'!

Did you take any pics? I'd love to see those birds, and there are plenty of 'nature-nuts' on this forum who would truly appreciate them:)

Sorry I hadnt got back to this thread.
Blog is http://ramblinggarden.blogspot.co.nz

Although Ive added some new posts since then they arent about birds.

I was talking to my coworker today how it would be fun to go to the other bird island for a day trip one day. I havent got into birdwatching but found out he was into it. I think its because I live in the suburbs always had cats...and you know what cats can do with birds! I dont believe cats are as bad as some people make out cos they can catch mice and rats as well. Its really dogs that are a threat to flightless birds like kiwi and chickens.
