Adonai (parallel with Yahweh)

- Origin: from an unused root (meaning to rule)

With so many meanings, the Jews use it in substitution for God's real name, יהוה (Yehua).

The letter meanings for אדון are:

א - Strength/first/sacrifice - value 1, 1000
ד - Door/pathway - value 4
ו - nail/"and"/fixed/established - value 6
ן - Seed/fish/life - 50

Total 61

Indeed, the letter meanings still point to Jesus as He is our Sacrifice, our Door, the Way, and He established life through the nails.

I hope this helps.

Great High Priest?
heb 4 :14
Seeing then, that we have a Great High Priest, who is passed intothe heavens, Jesus son of God, let us hold fast our professions.

Will Great High Priest qualify as a title of the Lord, or is This another name for Father God?

Sorry I had to edit. I typoed wrong speech.
That's better now I think.

Via dolarossa: Great High Priest is what Jesus became to us when he was seated at the right hand of God. Before Jesus we were separated from God by sin, and had no way to approach God except through animal/food sacrifices which were only temporary. With Jesus' sacrifice, He became our intercessor with God so that we could now approach God through Jesus. So the term Great High Priest is in reference to the Son of God, Jesus of Nazareth - He who died for us and was sacrificed for our sins.

Jealous...

Exodus 34:14
For thou shalt worship no other god: for the Lord, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God:

Exodus 20:5, 34:14; Deuteronomy 4:24, 5:9, 6:15; Joshua 24:19; Ezekiel 39:25; Nahum 1:2; Zechariah 1:14, 8:2).

Let’s look at what the word jealous means. Noah Webster’s 1828 Dictionary of the English Language defines jealous as: “suspicious; apprehensive of rivalship; uneasy through fear that another has withdrawn or may withdraw from one of the affections of a person he loves, or enjoy some good which he desires to obtain; to be full of competition.”

Wow never knew that.
Well it makes sense to me.
We're His little children and He wants us in to grow up fit and well like Christ

Father. I never had anyone to guide me or support me. Now I do. I know it sounds a bit cheezy, but that's how I feel.

And this is a great, informative thread x

Same here.
I think son of man is come for us!
So we don't have to go looking for him if he's here he'll find us. I've been up that tree like zaccheuos God knows how many times and I fell down too.
Now son of man is come you'll be next mark Luke's words x
God keeps his promises remember

El Shaddai in Hebrew meant ' Mighty God'. It could also mean God of 'wilderness' or 'mountain' Considering Moses went up the 'mountain' to talk to God that figures. And so did Jesus.

Mt 14:23 "Jesus went up to the mountain to pray alone."

"God is more majestic than the mountains." Psalm 76:4

"The Lord is a God of the hills, not the valleys." 1 Kings 20:28.

Elyōn meaning Most High.

Also I recently learned that YHWH is often translated as The LORD in English translations of the Bible, and realized that's probably why the pastor of my church often calls him "The LORD" during prayer.

It used to strike me as odd when I heard it, but now it strikes me as ancient and holy.
