- Testimony
- I come from a non-Christian family but was brought to the Lord by a school friend in 1962. Since then my Christian life has had its ups and downs. I trained at Rosebank Bible College in Johannesburg then went on to the Baptist Theological College. I worked for YfC in South Africa, Pastored a Church and was co-ordinator for the first ever visit to South Africa by Billy Graham.
In addition to my theological studies I have graduate and post graduate degrees in Psychology.
26 Years ago we moved from South Africa to England.
I have lectured in Psychology, counselled for the NHS and 16 years ago my wife and I opened a Christian Counselling Centre.
(Marilyn is also a trained counsellor and manager.)
We handed that ministry on to others about 2 years ago.
In addition to the counselling we trained Christian counsellors both in our local area and by invitation in other areas of the UK. In total over 700 people completed the training courses. Many are serving the Lord by working in or through their local churches.
We are semi retired but run Christian House Sitters and we also run a Christian Stress Management business serving churches and Christian organizations. It is called TLC Stress Management. (Before I retired I was Chair of the International Stress Management Association UK)
I have an active preaching ministry and run Christian seminars on subjects such as stress management for church groups.
I have written two books. A Christian book called Let's Get Serious that is a very practical workbook on Christian commitment as applied to real life.
The book looks at how we can surrender ourselves more fully to God.
This is looked at under the headings of Physical, Mental, Social and Spiritual commitment. The book is called Let's Get Serious.
I also wrote a secular book on Stress Management called Stress Overcoming this Potential Killer.
Details of both can be found on the Christian House Sitters website
