Realizing I am in daily spiritual warfare, I fight. When I lose, it is my fault. When I am victorious, it is because of God. Jan 20, 2015

    Biography:
I was born into a Catholic family, and grew up religious. I went to college 92 miles from home, met and married my husband, began reading the Bible, got save, read intensely and abandoned Catholicism in favor of Protestantism. I had 2 of my children before going to work full time because my husband could no longer hold a job (PTSD from childhood and from Vietnam). I had our third child. Time passed, and the children grew. We lived in the shadow of my husband's sometimes upredictable outbursts. The only reason we are still together after 36 years is God Almighty and His Word. The children are all married and they are giving us grandchildren. So far we have 7, with the 8th expected in early June 2015. I am always learning from God, even at my age. Other info: I am a runner since 2011 and a cyclist since 2012. I encourage anyone, particularly people my age--if you are able, run! cycle! Your body will love you for it!
    Testimony:
As a child, I admired the martyrs I read about in little Catholic booklets, though I did not understand how they could choose death rather than denying Christ. I always knew there had to be more to God than what I experienced in the Catholic church and all its rituals and rules. When I married my hsband, I started going to his church, which was Baptist. Reluctantly, I sat through a few services, and then discovered that I was learning things I did not know. I began reading the Bible, hungry for God, starving for closeness to Him, and I finally got saved. That was the beginning. The more I read, the more I saw differences from Catholicism, and I began to research, finally coming to a fork in the road where I had to make a decision. I broke with my family of origin, and left Catholicism forever, choosing to trust the Holy Spirit to reveal all truth to me, instead of letting a priest interpret scripture to me. My family was rocked, and they begged me, even bribed me, to return to their faith. I told them I could no sooner do that than I could to peel off my own skin. I have never regretted my decision.
