What's the latest movie you've seen??

The slapstick style humor in Tremors was oddly entertaining.

I took my daughter to opening night of "Kitt Kittredge" last night

10/10 for a 10 year old girl
9/10 for mom
7/10 for dad
& 2/10 for big brother

Wanted - 1/10 - Me and my mother went to see this today; we just wasted $10.00 and about 1 or 2 hours of my life watching this. OK, so everyone must have thought this movie would be a big 5 star blockbuster film, right? NO! I dislike these movies that use famous actors to attract attention and make the movie seem better than what it was. Angelina Jolie and Morgan Freeman (I know) are much better actors than what this movie portrayed.
This movie could have gotten a 5, 6, 7, 8, or a 10 if it didn't have the following:

  1. Overt sexual scenes in the beginning of the movie (a -1 taken from the score for it being unneeded and when you least want to see it - other people found it funny but I didn't, neither did my mom.)
  2. Cursing in every sentence. Yes, and I am not just talking d, a, and s words. This was hard-core - and it made my ears bleed. I found this really, really, really unneeded, more than the sex scenes. It just...ruined the movie!
  3. Action scenes that were probably meant to make it exciting, but after a while can we let up on blowing holes in peoples' heads? Thank you!
Well, the exploding rats thing was kind of funny...and cute somehow. :p
Oh well, I am going to go see Batman "The Dark Knight" pretty soon. Hopefully that will make up for this rubbish.

It's not a movie, but I made a baaaaaaaad mistake yesterday.

It's called Deadliest Catch and it's on the Discovery Channel.

They go out fishing for crab (I thought it was strange that they call it fishing, too, but oh well). It's supposedly the most dangerous job on earth.

I was spellbound! I couldn't tear my eyes away! It was impossible for me to turn the TV off, and I never watch TV!

Don't watch "Axemen" then....it'll get ya too

LOL

I think it reminds me of a project we did a few years ago. It was in the forest, near the mountain, and it was COLD. It rained constantly. There was snow on the ground. We were wearing this rubber rain gear and we were all miserable. We had to walk uphill one way looking for artifacts, and then down the hill. It wasn't just woods, it was logs, slippery brush, cliffs, canyons, maple vine, dead bushes, etc. It was grueling! 10 hours a day, climbing and climbing and climbing. It was miserable! I got cramps at night and lost 10 pounds on that project, even though I was eating like a pig. The slopes were at 60%. I was so lonesome for home.:(

That crab show reminds me that there's others out there who have it worse.

Or Ice Road Truckers.:D

I like that one. :p

Latest movies seen: The Great Debaters...... good movie. Death at a Funeral...... funny. Vantage Point..... tense.

I watch too many movies these days.

I thought Wall-e was pretty great. It has a solid message, especially when you apply it to the consumerist mentality that seems to be so pervasive in our culture.

Oh and it was great for kids to LOL!

Edward Scissorhands - 10/10 - I know some people may not like this movie, but it was beautiful. Wonderfully written. It shows that no matter what, you don't love a person for what they are, but who they are. :)

:)

The Ruins - 0/10 Gummy Worms: Pfffft! These kids go out to a place where they shouldn't have been, ignoring all warnings. They get infected with these plant-things and are made to stay where they are by some of the local hispanics. Instead of being charged as the heroes, the people keeping the kids on the pyramid are seen as the bad guys...even though they're protecting the rest of the world by keeping these "plant-things" quarantined to the pyramid. There's a medical student with the kids, and instead of seeing the importance of the quarantee, he tries to come up with a way for the kids to escape. Pffft! I'm grounded from renting movies for this one.

:D
