Repeated Sin

Hey Everyone! So, I am confused on this matter. In Hebrews 10:26 it says, "If we deliberately keep on sinning after we have received the knowledge of the truth, no sacrifice for sins is left..." This means that if a lost person is called to be saved and then continues to sin (and still be lost) that there is then no more forgiveness right? I'm not trying to find an excuse for sinning willfully, but I know sometimes that we all choose to sin. Like, I have a repeated sin, and I just seem to not be able to stop. I saw this bible verse and wanted to make sure that this is what it meant. Also, I need prayer for the repeated sin situation. Thank you!

No honestly it just means that Jesus is not going to keep dying, so at some point the person needs to accept the forgiveness and stop sinning. Jesus is thee only sacrifice for sin.
We need to remember that Jesus died to set us free from the power of sin, And grace will always be ready for us, once we decide to accept and seek forgiveness.

Philiplians 2:13 says that it is God who dwells within us giving us the power and desire to do what pleases Him.

Once a non believer chooses to believe and give their heart to Christ. ..The power of the Holy Spirit will come in and change or make their spirit reborn. This verse reaffirms that Jesus' death and shed blood is the only way to redemption and eternity.

Will keep you in our prayers that your love for truth, will supercede your desire for the sin. When you make the choice that you no longer desire the sin, and stop accepting its power to control you...then you will be free from it. For it has no power over you that you dont give it.
Blessings

Greetings Brother,
I am going to talk straight with you man to man as they say.
First thing is Yes we can and will pray about this trouble you have with a certain area that you have a struggle with - However in the end.....all the prayers will not Fix this for you Because in All Truth it Comes Down to you!!

It is you sir who makes the choice to either give in or fight. It is You sir who has the Final Authority to give into it or Walk Away.

So we can either play games with something we struggle with or we can walk in our authority and refuse to give in.

Yea I know it can be difficult and uncomfortable and Not Fun or Pleasing to not give in but at what point does one Stand Up and say hey wait a minute here, you are Not Stronger then He who lives in me.........why should I bow down to you and live as if this desire is stronger then Christ in me?

If we are honest with our selves, far to many times we try to overcome or resist in our own strength.

Blessings and yes we will be praying.
Blessings

As I was writing another member, I felt that God wanted me to come in and remind you that He Loves you! And everytime you repent of your sin, you accept His grace and you stop the power that you have given to the sin. It does not matter if you repent 1000 times a day....each time you stop it's hold on you and you accept forgiveness and God's restoration of the righteousness (breastplate of righteousness) that Jesus gave you when you accepted Jesus your Lord. And as you feed your spirit with the Word of God it causes your flesh to let go of the sin. For the Word of God is alive and when it gets in you....it transforms you to resemble the Word that you have planted (Romans 12:2). This is why it's so important to be very diligent and cautious about what kind of things your allowing into your eyes, ears, and out of your mouth.

Abundant kingdom Blessings to you!

I agree with the posts made here. Everyone struggles and fights against different sins. One of Jesus' own disciples asked Him "If my brother sins against me how many times should I forgive him? Up to seven times?" Jesus told him if he comes to you repentant, not just seven times, but 70 times 7." (As many times as it takes.) The Lord would not instruct us to do something that He Himself does not do.
Concerning the text in Hebrews....context. Read from the start of the chapter, and read past the verse to the end of the chapter, and then interpret the verse in that context. The writer of the book was (in this section) writing to Jewish people having a difficult time accepting Christ, OR he was addressing those who appeared to believe in the Messiah but were falling away back in Judaism when persecuted for Christ. The sin in view here is not truly, honestly placing one's faith in Christ and following Him as Lord and Savior. The sin is denying Him and His sacrifice.

Correct!

If those who turned from Christ back to their Jewish rituals, then there would not be any sacrifice left for them for sin.
When a person rejects the truth of Christ's death for our sin, there is no other sacrifice available for sin because there is no other way to come to God.

Those people were to look to Christ and not their temple. If they did not do that them the only thing left is the judgment.

We need to consider what sin is. Back in the 1930's going to the cinema was a sin, dancing or using make-up a sin. Sin changes according to the time.
The Greek word hermatia translated as sin, means to miss the mark. Why do we miss the mark, because satan blinds our minds. When we are born again we receive the mind of Christ and see the target clearly.
According to 1 John 3:8 "who does sin is of the devil."
In verse 9 we are told, "Everyone born of God does no sin, because His Seed (the Lord Jesus) abides in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God." The word cannot in Greek is ou dunatai, basically no power.
Sin is a nature not an action, we have the nature of God. According to 2 Corr. 5:17 "If that any in Christ, he is a new (kainos new never existing before, totally different) creature: the old passed away; lo they are become new. Kainos again. So we become a new creature filled with all the fullness of God, but the "church" tells us we can sin. You drink alcohol, you smoke etc. The "church" labels actions it doesn't agree with as sin!
According to Romans 12:2 "Be transformed (metamorphosized) by the renewing (Kainos again, we have to think like God) of your mind." So it is imperative that we re-program our minds to think God's way. The way to do this is study the Church Epistles, the letter written to the Spirit filled churches.
Does this mean we can do whatever we like? No! We are under the law of love, we can not do anything which would harm another, including ourself. If it brings Love, Joy, Peace then go for it. Remember satan will bombard your mind, but take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ.
Follow the words of that great theologian, Jiminy Cricket, "Let your conscience be your guide." The Holy Spirit will give a check, to your spirit, if it is wrong!
[Greek has two word for new, neos and kainos. William Barclay in his New Testament give an illustration to explain the difference. The millionth pencil produced on a production line is just as neos as the others. But if the millionth produced is a pen then it is kainos, totally different.]
