Theme change

Hi all, you might have already noticed a new look for CFS. This will be our new default theme.

Why this? The author for our old theme stopped working for xenforo and so the theme remained unsupported for many months now. It is not recommended we continue with an unsupported theme. It may break when the core software is upgraded plus there could be unresolved bugs that may invite hacks, exploits or threats.

The new theme is fully supported and upgraded along with the core software. If you still need the old theme or the default theme, they are still accessible via the style chooser. I intend to remove the old unsupported theme at a later time. Also in the near future I am also looking at trialing a CDN service for our website. More about that later. If there's anything, please post below.

God bless you.

I'm a believer in the tried and true wisdom................."if it aint broke don't fix it".
I hope this new theme is not more vulnerable to hacks.
But that is me.

I respect and share your opinion. But in the online software world things are a little different. Codes are constantly scanned for loopholes and when one website gets hacked, the attacker uses the same technique on other website sharing the same code. This actually happens a lot. The good thing is that when one website gets hacked because of a bad code and the news reaches the code developers, they immediately contact everyone using their code and supply them with patches. I know by experience that it's good to keep the codes updated than to go through the headache of fixing a broken website and spending a lot time and money searching through files to locate one corrupt file. That said, this is still not a bullet proof method. Anythings can happen at anytime. It's also wise to stitch in time right? ;)

As I previously indicated, I have now setup a CDN (Content Delivery Network) to serve our static files. The CDN service is provided by a company called KeyCDN. They seem good and reasonably priced. I'm trialing their service to see whether this setup actually reduces our page load time. I'll give this setup about 10 days during when I'll be monitoring page speed on hourly basis. If you feel that the website does load faster or has become slower with this setup, please let me know. Thanks.

Well, now that it seems 'broke', I wonder can it be fixed?
Back in the good ol' days, mousing over a Bible text would cause it to be displayed; seems to be missing from this new package.
Oddly enough, mousing works on a Bible ref that is in a thread heading, but not posts.

I'll check on this.

The pop-up scripture isn't available for this template unfortunately.
I can set you at the previous template is you wish.
