Cursed is the ground

Genesis 3:17 Then to Adam He said, "Because you have listened to the voice of your wife, and have eaten from the tree about which I commanded you, saying, 'You shall not eat from it'; Cursed is the ground because of you; In toil you will eat of it All the days of your life

Here Adam and Even have fallen to satan's plan. Why God is cursing the land for Adam's failure? What are your thoughts on this?

My thought is that God did not and could not bear to actually curse His beloved creation---mankind---set above all the rest.

God saw that we needed to put forth effort to battle against our own nature. So He made it so that we would need to battle against nature, the ground, rocks, weeds, etc., to train us for the battle in the spirit.
God made the Garden to work with man and man with the earth. Since we worked against nature, disobeying God, now nature works against us.
God also saw that if things were too easy for us, we are easily led astray. We forced our way into a struggle, and so He has given us a struggle.
Just some thoughts.
Blessings

But didn't Eve get a direct curse? Satan got a direct curse.. Eve got a direct curse.. and for Adam, the curse is through the cursing of the land..

I wonder if the below is significant in having an understanding..

Romans 8 - 19 For all creation is waiting eagerly for that future day when God will reveal who his children really are.20 Against its will, all creation was subjected to God’s curse. But with eager hope,21 the creation looks forward to the day when it will join God’s children in glorious freedom from death and decay.22 For we know that all creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time.

Paul writes creation was subjected to God's curse against its will. Before the fall, both the creation and mankind was holy. That is, they were set apart for the Lord. When sin came in, it is no longer holy. Because the creation sustains mankind which is no longer holy, the creation is forcefully cursed. The day of complete freedom from sin and suffering for the mankind will mark the day of complete redemption for creation also. Because the land and ground was created "for" Adam, they got cursed "because of" Adam's sin. Makes sense? :)

People often call God’s words in Genesis 3 “the curse”. But God cursed only the serpent and the ground---the spiritual and natural worlds. God’s words to Adam and Eve only told of the inevitable consequences of their decision. God wasn’t putting anything on them. He was describing a future filled with sin. His words didn’t declare His will for humanity. They merely described the inevitable results of sin in the lives of those who violate His will.

Interesting.. Never looked it that way

God did not curse the land to cause adam to fail.
Lets step back a few steps.
Dont eat of the forbidden tree - the tree of Good and Evil
Well they ate of the fruit of Good and evil - Therefore releasing this into the land. The curse was in the evil and the blessing is in the good. God had no choice here for He had already said do not but they did so it was set free. They only knew the good ( the Blessings )
at this point.

Even satan was fooled in all of this. he thought he was going to come out on top here just like in job where he thought he would gain jobs favor. God had to instruct adam and eve and God had to instruct satan and tell him how it was going to be for him from then on.

Sorrow means toil wich is struggle
We were never meant to struggle with this land or having our needs met.
From that point on adam had to work the land just as we do today but before this there were no weeds and thistles and no plowing and so forth. The land just grew and fed them for they knew no toil in working the land.

Proverbs 10:22.......It is the blessing of the LORD that makes rich, And He adds no sorrow to it.
Rich is not simply finances......it is rich in all area's of your life. For when you walk in His ways obediantly then you can walk in His blessing.

Sorrow which is toil which is struggle and this stems from adam eating of the fruit of good and evil releasing the curse into the land. This is why many Christians fail or live in lack or produce very little fruit. They are operating under sorrow or struggle or toil and the enemy the devil keeps on keeping them in a bondage of struggle.

No Sir, God did not place this curse for adam to fail. Infact God did not place it in this world - man did out of mans disobediance.
God Bless

Jesus' blood is the redemption from the curse. The earth is witing for us, God's children to get our thoughts, words and bodies to line up with the word of God so that we can release God's Blessing upon the earth like Adam was supposed to in the beginning.
