Trials and Troubles more precious than gold

We try to warn christians of cults like this, but it seems since some are covetous already, they will join such covetous churches like people play lotto.

I remember once being dragged to an amway meeting, a colleague had gotten into it and was told by her amway people to invite more so they could get rich.
She didnt even really tell me what it was all about but just an extra way of making cash. It didnt seem like she was making much anyway cos she was still working full time at the place I was working..if she was making as much as they claimed she would have quit her job and retired. Anyway.
They had this big powerpoint presentation of how they had this brilliant idea for a pipeline. That would flow into your house and you wouldnt have to do anything. And then they had people say testimonies. They were all dressed in business suits.

And then at the end, what they did was say. You can be just as successful and rich as us if you give us $500. Lol.

Hmm I see Euphemia does have twink in her bible.
No worry, just as I suspected. She doesnt see the point in reading it, just wants to be a Jew. Well, go live in Israel then. If all the blessings of Deuteronomy apply, then all the Curses are going to apply too, and she will need to adhere to the law and follow all 613 commandments. Otherwise, it IS going to be seven times worse for her.
Nothing unholy can ever come from her lips. After all a Jewish princess ought to live in a literal Kingdom.

If she wont read those verses in Acts, maybe she wont even read James, then nothing I say will make a difference. Where your treasure is, there your heart is also.

I dont need to make 'positive confession' and hold God to his promises. he has already sent His son! i know everything will go according to His plan! I dont need to manipulate God, just trust Him! His grace is sufficient for me! Now I live day by day by faith in Him, so, Im not missing out on anything here.

What the blazes are you on about? Stop with your silly judgmentalism and get on with the discussion. You haven't a clue what you're talking about, truly.

My original post just meant, that even though those offerings were collected and those churches helped the disciples on to the others and so forth, in those congregations you likely would have found rich and poor together. So not everyone in those congregations would have had a lot of coin to contribute, they likely would have still contributed.
At this point in my walk, I'm utterly focussed on healing and deliverance and the spiritual gifts associated with that, and as such, I do not even think about money.
I know I'll reach that point as all riches on earth belong to God my Father any case.
It's a priorities thing - far to many sick and bondaged people in this here old country, so my heart is at that place, along with the church stool seat warmer. Having to one day see someone that joined you for coffee end up not completing the race, well that brings hurt to my heart, and I know I sit next to them in church on Sundays.
You are where your heart is at, and that ends up on your tongue.

It is not said in here that finances is number one priority. It is just what got the most attention sadly enough. It is awesome however when some on in front of you in the grocery store is trying to figure out what they can have taken off their bill for they do not have enough money and you just step up and tell the clerk to put it all back and that you have this and tell the folks that God loves them and wanted to pay for their food. This opens up a big door.

I think all they did was sell special expensive vitamins and soap, stuff you could buy anywhere and that you didnt even need anyway.
Pyramid scheme...another time she said she invite me to on of the members homes, like they wanted to show off their flash place to me. Problem was, for me, had no idea never been to this person house before, its dark, its miles away...and they expect me to go and be solda bill of goods? So I didnt go, and then she got mad at me for not going..and im thinking...if thats what it means to be part of her exclusive club and have to attend boring powerpoint presenations all the time and sell soap, i dont want any of it.

Lanolin please stop being so rude to people and then claiming they are to you and others.
Your words show you know nothing of the blessing and curse so please stop the rude remarks to others. The curse was set into motion the day adam fell. It will stay in operation.
If you refuse to make Jesus Lord of your life then the curse which is in this world is what you have. The blessing comes when you choose Jesus and walk in Gods ways.
Those were man made Jewish laws Lanolin and not commandments from God.

The rest of your post is rude and uncalled for. I believe you owe Euphemia a big apology as well.
God Bless You
Jim

I know some churches, collect cash and it just goes to one person, the pastor. Then the pastor buys a flash house and car, and says thats evidence of Gods blessing. Lol. So not!!!
Oh you know this how ? You follow them around and make note of all this ? No I did not think so, so until this is true stop accusing falsely

No, Ananias and Sapphira had every right to keep ALL the money if they wanted. Their desire to keep some is not in question.
Acts 5:3 But Peter said, “Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit and keep back part of the price of the land for yourself.

Jim you deny this?

Obviously we can't blanket all. But I know many as does everyone here. It is absolutely no surprise that the discussion on faith has jumped on money :giggle:.

Jim which would you say is most acceptable?

1. A pastor should live beneath the average member income.
2. A pastor should live on par / just above the average member income.
3 A pastor should live way above the average member income to show the fruits of faith, God's will to bless us abundantly.

Acts 5:3 But Peter said, “Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit and keep back part of the price of the land for yourself.

Kj what point are you trying to say here. We know what it says. We also know that they had a right to keep the money but what they did was said (imanginary figure) we sold it for 150.000.00 but actually sold it for 200.000.00 Now this is what the problem was they lied to God.

Scripture tyells us that it was their money and they could havbe kept it. Perhaps even half or what have you for the scriptures do not go into all that but the fact weas they tried to pull a fast one.

The Pastor should live according to how God directs Him to live. In lack NO!
KJ the one thing that I think most are missing is this...........a pastors finances do not all come from the members. People keep insisting that Pastors take the money from the poor members and leave them out in the cold while they live as fat cats. That is a lie.

If pastors earn a lot elsewhere they should invest it and live modestly. Agreed?

Acts 5:3 But Peter said, “Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit and keep back part of the price of the land for yourself.

Yes, he lied to the Spirit of God and the church because he said he was giving the entire proceeds of the sale of his property to them, but he held some back, which was his right to do. But he lied about it. His lying was motivated by greed and pride.

So if you be a servant of God and are walking in the Blessing of the Lord and are very blessed it is wrong ? So only regular people can have nice things or tools for their trade ? Hey my frinds dad is a christian and he owns a trucking company and has more big trucks on the road then you would beleive and owns them all. Is He living wrong ?

Why is it if a pastor is blessed in ALL area's of his life it is a sin or he is bad ?
Please let me know how this works
Thaks KJ
Blessings

A pastor should live as God leads him to live. If God blessed him with a nice home so be it and if the Lord called Him to preach across this nation and other countries and told him to get his own jets then God supplies the means for the jets and it is no ones business other then Gods and his.

What about this bothers you KJ and why ?
Serious question..... ; )

That you believe the underlined is rather disturbing.

The love of money is the root of much evil. A pastor should be extra mindful of stumbling his flock. A pastor that can afford a private jet should still fly economy class.

Titus 1:7 For an overseer, as God's steward, must be above reproach. He must not be arrogant or quick-tempered or a drunkard or violent or greedy for gain.

Heb 13:5 Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have, for he has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.

Matt 16:24 No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money.

Luke 12:33-34 Sell your possessions, and give to the needy. Provide yourselves with moneybags that do not grow old, with a treasure in the heavens that does not fail, where no thief approaches and no moth destroys. For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
