broken by the burden of it all

Four hundred years the Jewish nation existed in Egypt.

The latter years all benevolence between Egypt and the Jews was forgotten. Egyptian slave masters made life increasingly difficult for their slaves.

Go therefore now, and work; for there shall no straw be given you, yet shall ye deliver the tale of bricks. - Exodus 5:18 KJB

Only the young and the strong could endure the increased burden.

The Jews were delivered of those burdens, by God Almighty, for they were His people.

God immediately placed His people under an even greater burden that NO MAN could bear.

Says so, right here...

Now therefore why tempt ye God, to put a yoke upon the neck of the disciples, which neither our fathers nor we were able to bear? - Acts 15:10 KJB

The Jews were saved from slavery in Egypt, then God placed them under an even greater burden
than they were under in Egypt.

The burden of their sins.

Some of the strongest could survive the bricks, mortar, and straw of Egypt, but NO MAN can bear the burden of his sins.

Four hundred years (yeah, another four hundred years, si?) of silence between the Old Testament

and the New.

Where is God's remnant? He always has His remnant upon the earth.

Here's one, broken by the burden of the law...

And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner. - Luke 18:13 KJB

Here's another...

And, behold, there was a man in Jerusalem, whose name was Simeon; and the same man was just and devout, waiting for the consolation of Israel: and the Holy Ghost was upon him. And it was revealed unto him by the Holy Ghost, that he should not see death, before he had seen the Lord's Christ. - Luke 2:25 & 26 KJB

Thirty some odd years later, Christ Jesus died, was buried, and rose to ascend to the Father.

Saying IT IS FINISHED!

And, behold, the veil of the temple was rent in twain from the top to the bottom; and the earth did quake, and the rocks rent - Matthew 27:51 KJB

Man can be free from the burden of his sins. The burden of the law, all of it, because ALL OF IT was fulfilled, by God Himself, because NO MAN COULD.

These words of Scripture confirm HIS WORDS...

Now therefore why tempt ye God, to put a yoke upon the neck of the disciples, which neither our fathers nor we were able to bear? - Acts 15:10 KJB

For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all. - James 2:10 KJB

Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith. - Galatians 3:24 KJB

But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster. - Galatians 3:25 KJB

Thank you again for your time,
Craig

Welcome Craig! I hope your participation will be a wonderful experience for all of us and I look foreword to your thoughts and pots.

Well, those ten commandents were pretty heavy.
They were on huge big stone slabs, and Moses broke them and had to go up and get new ones.

Now we have Jesus, we dont have those heavy stone slabs anymore. Its only two commandments written on our hearts.

I bet all the chosen israelites groaned when Moses came back and said...wait theres more.
They prolly thought. What?? God wants us to live up to all this???

@Craig Allen.....something interesting that i herd a pastor say is that the reason why God originally put them under that yolk is because they got the attitude that they can do things on their own without God. Thus God changed direction, and had to show them why they needed Him.

Blessings
