By His stripes we are healed

It seems ideal to quote the line when praying for healing. But has the line got anything to do with bodily healing?

I do believe God heals. But don't believe we need / should use this scripture to support it. The verse is speaking of material matters. God bore our sins, we were dead to sins and are now alive. Adding something trivial like bodily healing does not fit, at all. ''God of the universe died for you and will revive all who were dead in their sins....and heal their toes''.

1 Pet 2:24 Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.

Isaiah 53:5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.

Yes, this scripture completely supports that Jesus bore our sins and diseases on His body on the cross. He bore all sin, sickness, curses, death and condemnation for all of it at once at Calvary.

This scripture is just one of many that we can certainly stand on concerning the promises of God to all who would put their trust in Jesus Christ for salvation.

Healing is not trivial.

Brother KJ would you be profounding in this a little deeper and presenting some scriptures along with what you are saying here ?
Blessings Jim

As i think about what you are saying....God is the one that put that part in the verses that you have quoted, so if we remove it then we will not be quoting that scripture correctly.

And in my opinion, when we talk about healing or are renewing our minds to what the Word of God says about healing, then all of the scriptures that talk about healing, or show healing should be considered, and quoted. For the Word of God is living and active...it's not dead. As we speak what God has already said in His Word, then it gives our angels permission to carry out the task. Because they can only obey the Word of God.

If i am missing something, then i apologize.

Exactly.......that verse encompasses everything that Christ did for us on the cross.

Spiritual healing is not trivial. Bodily healing is completely trivial. Why doesn't it rather say ''we can now move mountains?'' That would be better then saying we can now receive bodily healing. It doesn't say that because moving mountains is trivial. Only faith of a mustard seed is needed. Salvation is not trivial. There is nothing we can do to earn our salvation. We are healed of the sickness of sin and darkness.

I am not looking to remove that part. Just acknowledging that we need to grasp the context. The only verses we need for healing are Matt 6:26 and John 9:31. We want to '''claim'' our own healing and not leave it in God's hands. That is why we purposely miss interpret that scripture. My rhema on this is two days old, so I am open to correction from the elders here.

This is not a promise of bodily healing. It is a promise of spiritual healing. Just like promises of prosperity are for heaven.

I took a look at those two verses you listed, and if you please could you show me how they are for our healing? And how you came to this conclusion?
Thanks

Matt 6:26 = God looks after us. Does a kid need to ask for food, medical attention and housing? No.
John 9:31 = The only requirement to God hearing our prayer is to be 'a worshipper of God'. This proves that nobody can pray a more effective prayer for 'healing' then you. Elders are however recommended by Paul as they can give wise counsel with prayer.

Why would we need promises for prosperity for Heaven ?
Blessings Brother KJ Jim
Don't ask me, ask Jesus. Matt 6:19 Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. Whatever scripture you think refers to prosperity on earth needs to be read in this light.

The disciples and early Christians sold all they had.

Can you also tell me how you came to this conclusion? Thanks
Well I had a visit from a good friend of mine recently. He has been praying for the sick at hospitals. My wife had flu, so he comes up to her and says ''be gone''. No 'in Jesus name be gone'. No ''If it be thy will Lord, let the sickness go''. Humility = 0/10. Pride = 10/10.

I questioned him on this. This verse came up (as it always does) as something we can claim. He added that we are created just beneath God and with Jesus we are like God. Sickness listens to us. Hence the 'be gone' / I claim my healing.

God loves him. I love him. God is using him. But he is not thinking right.

Everything is subject to God's will. We are not demi gods. Claiming our prosperity, healing and what not is us removing God from an equation He wants to be a part of. We live by faith in Him. Not faith in faith / faith off some verses we repeat over and over in our minds.

I did and He said I dunno KJ wrote it !! :D Brother you made that one way to easy !!
Any way the Early Christians had a real good grip on seeding or giving. They sold things they had and gave the money to Christians who were in Need and then when those Chrtistians were doing good they gave and sent it to other Christians that had need. If the body of Christ would get a hold of this in this day and age no one would ever have a need.

Now then if you include verse 20 and 21 with verse 19 it paints a different picture.
It teaches us to NOT put our trust on treasures or finances here on this earth for when we do then this is where our hearts are...BUT instead store your treasures in Heaven...seek His kingdom or ways of doing things first and these other things will be added unto you.

Get kingdom mined or another words doing things the kingdom way or Gods way which is found in His scriptures. Think about Luke 6:38 where it says "GIVE" and it shall be given back unto you....But it does not stop there.....it also tyells you with what measure you use ...the same will be used to give back unto you.....

If your mind and heart is on your treasures here then you will not be a cheerful giver and if you do give it will be as a thimbol full comparted to what you have stored up here on this earth...... Now then if your heart or treasures are stored in Heaven or focussed on God and His ways then you will be a cheerful giver and give bucket loads over thimbol loads....

Blessings

It's all and only about FAITH. People don't experience healing because it’s a matter of faith. It’s already God’s will, He said so.

Romans 8:32 KJV - He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?
Matthew 12:15 KJV - But when Jesus knew [it], he withdrew himself from thence: and great multitudes followed him, and he healed them all;
Luke 4:40-41 KJV - Now when the sun was setting, all they that had any sick with divers diseases brought them unto him; and he laid his hands on every one of them, and healed them. And devils also came out of many, crying out, and saying, Thou art Christ the Son of God. And he rebuking [them] suffered them not to speak: for they knew that he was Christ.
James 1:17 KJV - Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.

'be gone''. No 'in Jesus name be gone'. No ''If it be thy will Lord, let the sickness go''. Humility = 0/10. Pride = 10/10.
That kind of praying is weak and full of doubt and tends to NOT get the attention of the Father. Faith has to be the same in every single situation and never wavering or swaying but the same constantly at all times. If you do not know what the Fathers will is then how can you pray expecting to get a yes or amen which is His answers to ourt prayers when prayed according to His will which is found in His every promise in His every word.

The faith in God's Word is not just some verses though. It is faith in God. When our words line up with God's Word, then our angels have their instructions or something that they can act on. Now if we do not believe what we are speaking, then we should not even ask (James 1:6)

Now you are right that everything is subject to God's will.....but God's will is that we rely on Him and His power to heal us. When we "claim" we have healing, a better word would be "accept" the free gift that Jesus paid for with His Blood.

And in my opinion (God love your friend) he didn't seem to sure of what he was saying. You cannot play basketball with baseball rules. The same is with God, and the things that The Blood of Jesus purchased for us...if you don't know the laws or rules to faith or healing...you cannot get them to function. But anyone who knows how to put Kingdom principles to work, will have success....but not in their strength, but in God's. He does these things because He loves us. And just as Jesus said....it is the Father that dwells within who does the work.....like abdicate said all we have to do is believe that God is true to His Word.

I am thinking we will disagree on the Father's will.
