Definition of Grace

um, I don't go back to what I once was...so..I thank God for his Grace everyday.

The fall happened, it was satan stealing God's glory. Before all that, God pronounced us very good. Yes our own fault for listening to Satan's lies. But really God does not see us that way when we are in Jesus, when we have his covering. So...I don't know why us believers should focus on the 'unmerited' part. Unbelievers...different story, but then, I'm not preaching to anybody.

I think your view being so opposite is a bit concerning, cos God clearly chooses us first, before we even think about choosing him. He loved us first. To ascribe ourselves God's role in choosing and to claim we can just choose him without us having been drawn to him first, by His power..makes no sense. We can't make ourselves christians that way. He's the one that sees us, we can only see a little bit through human eyes. Our part is choosing his son, Jesus by believing Him.

I don't know whats so hard to grasp about this, but clearly, theres some issues there.

hmm well I think Jesus went round healing and choosing the disciples not cos they were sinners cos they ALL were in different ways, but cos he saw something special in them. and notice Judas just latched on, Jesus wouldn't have picked him cos we know later that he think it was better if he had not been born..so..I don't know what you talking about. He went and healed people cos he LOVED them, first of all and wanted to show God's love, to those who needed them.
He also warned other people of the consequences of sin, but that was not his only purpose, to make people feel like stink sinners deserving of hell. I don't see Jesus telling little children they are worms.

You are not receiving, and you are being consistently oppositional to the truth of the word.

Before anyone receives the free gift of salvation, he is a wretch and unworthy of the Kingdom and of God's promises. Remember the words to the hymn, "Amazing Grace"?

God has a perfect plan for every human being, and He longs for everyone to come to Him and be blessed by His influence in their lives, but not everyone will respond well to His generous and loving offer. He sees them as worthy of salvation, but without Christ, they are unworthy of His promises and of a place in His forever Family.

besides, it's the holy spirits job to convict people, not ourselves.
When Mary was overpowered by the holy spirit, I don't recall her crying out no! Don't pick me, I'm not worthy to carry Jesus. Or Paul when he was knocked off his horse, I don't think Jesus berated him but gently scolded him for kicking against the pricks, in other words, being mighty stubborn. For sure he was the chief of all sinners, and the magnitude of his sin did dawn on him, but really, he didn't keep going on and on about it after he got up and followed Jesus.

EVERYONE has something special within them. EVERYONE has a a destiny all planned out by God. Many will never see it.

When we have received a true revelation of Jesus Christ, we also receive the revelation of ourselves as nothing without Him, and can do nothing without Him.

John 15:5
“Yes, I am the vine; you are the branches. Those who remain in me, and I in them, will produce much fruit. For apart from me you can do nothing.

It's only Job who repented in sack cloth and ashes cos he thought he was all that.
in general people don't think much of themselves anyway.

No one is making an argument here about who convicts people of sin. We all know it is Holy Spirit.

Jesus told us many, many, many times in the written word of God He only says what He hears the Father say and He only does what he see's the Father do. Do you have any idea what He is saying here ? Hint; this is how we SHOULD be....
Jesus picked the 12 because He saw the father pick them. Jesus only healed the one man at the pool because The Father only showed Him this man.

Jesus did NOT go around doing just what ever He wanted to do.

I am going to bestow my unmerited favour on people by not responding to arguments and debates and ignoring peoples rudeness.
And by my unmerited favourness, you can all be in my good books.

I will also make an unmerited favourful exit when all is said and done.

Just try to understand the typical words Christians use to describe the great grace of God, and WHY and be flexible about it and you will reap a whole lot of benefit for it. Inflexibility regarding something that will not change and doesn't have to change (because it is very appropriate as well as right) is considered a bit on the rude side, too, Lanolin.

What are you talking about ??
It's been a long day and could you make it a little easier by replying with a quote so we know what you are referring to ?
Thanks Lanolin

Here is one for you.
God commands us to Love one another BUT you do not have to like the way they act !

Happy Blessed Resurrection day Lanolin,
You mentioned this piece here....((But really God does not see us that way when we are in Jesus, when we have his covering. So...I don't know why us believers should focus on the 'unmerited' part ))
The Reason God see's us as Jesus is because of His Grace or unmerited Favor or un-earned favor or favor we did not truly deserve. With out it He would see us as the filthy rags we once were.

Any way I thought this might give you another understanding or view of what you spoke.
Blessings

I have a littel neighbour named Grace. She is so cute. But im not gonna call her my unmerited favourite of all my neighbours children. That would just be mean.

But I would say she is a favourite as she always says hello to me. Shes very lively.

You can call her Grace, as that IS her name, but you can know that her name reminds you of God's favour that rests on His children who do not have to earn it.

Lanolin Hello,
I have a question for you. Do you truly understand what is meant by "unmerited favor' ?
Blessingsd
