How do I witness?

I sincerely do not want anyone to go to hell. I have asked God to help me spread the Gospel, because I want everyone to go to Heaven (although I know that this is not going to happen). So now I am just waiting for Him. How do you guys witness? What do you say?

P.S. I also thought of making the "Jesus Saves" laminated cards and putting them in every mailbox on my street and every locker in my school. But I haven't had the "Go ahead" from God yet.

The first thing that you can do is pray that the Lord of the harvest..(which is God) Matthew 9:38, would send laborers out to his lost sheep. And asking God to prepare peoples hearts ahead of time, before you speak to them. Then as you speak to people, learning about them or their situation, trust the Holy Spirit to lead and guide you in what to say.

Sometimes, you may be able to build a relationship with people, prior to asking if they know Jesus.

Blessings little man!

I believe you should lead by example. One of my coworkers asked me why I was always smiling and I said, it's the love of God in my heart. Another time, I got hurt on the job and had no money, my girlfriend (who was not a christian) found me at peace, reading the bible by candlelight because I could not pay my electrical bill. She later told me that example, led her to become a christian.

Allowing God to shine through you and walk as His example and they will come to you and if there is ever a time we need to start the ball rolling, Well God is more then able to let us know.
Thank You for this awesome testimony !!

There is no doubt, living the life is the ultimate witness of all, and then you couple that with speaking the truth from the heart, and there will be an anointing on every word you speak.

I used to "witness" by debating. That is, I thought if I could win arguments with people and prove that they were wrong, they would see things my way... Sometimes they were literal debates. Like, formal debates with judges and such. Well, even if I technically "won" a debate, I still had a 0% success rate in convincing anyone. Alternatively, if I technically "lost" a debate, I wouldn't be convinced by the other side... The missing piece was that they still had no reason to seek Christ, because I had not been a good reflection of Christ to them.

I'm currently speaking with a guy who actually refers to himself as "The Antichrist," and he's one of the easiest people to talk with about Christ that I've ever met. When I first met him, I told him I was willing to bet he wasn't anti-Christ at all, he just didn't know Christ that well yet. He really liked that, and he told me he uses the name as a sort of a filter, to identify people who will only ever judge him. So what seemed at first to be something "evil," it turned out to be a defense mechanism for someone who was deeply hurting to protect themselves from more hurt. Just because I gave him a little of my time to really listen, now he is very interested to hear about who Christ is! Bottom line is, if you want the chance to witness to someone, care about them.

As a Christian we have a "huge" advantage because those to whom we witness to know what you are saying is true, because God has shown it to them. All we are doing is confirming what they already knew as truth. Piercing the darkness with the Word of God is done under the guidance of the Spirit of God. He knows all their thoughts and questions they have, and the Holy Spirit knows what answers to give them in return. There is no greater joy then being used by God to bring down the powers of darkness over a persons life!

Another thing is that I have very poor social skills and I get very closed up when talking about Christianity or Jesus.

"How do I witness?" is definitely a loaded question because there are so many answers for this.

I understand if you have a difficult time expressing your thoughts and beliefs -- this is common. At my office, I occasionally lead a prayer meeting, though I am a poor speaker. It can be intimidating since so many of my colleagues are used to speaking on Capitol Hill and lobbying. One of my colleagues is an ambassador and is noted as being a great orator. I stutter and skip over important parts because my mind flies elsewhere. I often need to keep certain notes with me and speak very slowly in order to express every single thing I intended to bring up.

However, while speaking is important, it's not the most important thing and we're all given different gifts...speaking is not one of mine, and perhaps it's not one of yours either. Consider the gifts you do have. It could be anything. It could be that you are very merciful and forgiving, or maybe you are good at working with your hands and helping others. Maybe it's that you have a great sense of humor and can make others laugh. Maybe you're just a listener and willing to let people get their burdens off their chests.

You're still quite young and the fact that you want to be used by God is commendable. Your wanting this alone is something God is already pleased with -- the next step is to do it, whatever that may be. But as others said before me, be a good example. Be obedient to God, honor your parents and your siblings if you have any. Be a great friend and avoid temptation at all costs, even if that avoidance is painful.

And I understand your nervousness, but while it's understandable, pray to God that you won't be afraid and that you will wear that badge of Christ proudly -- no matter what the skeptics and the media may say.

A good place to start is to love others. Forgive others, even if they don't deserve it. Pray for your friends and your enemies.

A co-worker of mine had an interesting way of looking how we approach things. Imagine yourself as a character in a movie...and imagine what you'd want to see that character do; showing kindness to others who might not deserve it, helping someone out who needs it, etc.

Thank you for the advice! Today we had to write a lot about school and I was not afraid to tell about the evil school system and how. Jesus is truly the only one that matters. I can easily express myself through writing and I am not afraid to speak about Jesus in writing.

This is the reason to spend time in prayer, because if God asks for you to talk to someone, He (knowing your weaknesses) will give you everything that you need to carry out what He has asked. You just have to be willing.

I herd it put this way......picture the godfather, when someone comes to him for a pardon, he grants it, knowing that one day he will collect payment in his way. Now the godfather knows that the person who needed the pardon does not have the things that he needs to carry out what is expected, so the godfather has to provide those things as well. Now God is Our Father. He knows where we are weak and knows that if He asks us to do something for Him that is in our area of weakness, then in order for us to obey or carry out His plan, He will have to provide the strength or the (whatever is needed) for us to carry it out. Then God is the one who gets the glory, because it was done in His strength and not ours.

Noah was a good example of this. God told Noah to build an ark, now how and where did he get all of the wood? And how did he get all of the animals to put on the ark? Noah, said Yes sir i will obey and God supplied all of what Noah needed.

So i should wait for God to guide me when it comes to witnessing this way, if He even wants me witnessing this way. I remember oce through Jesus Christ alone I was able to stop someone from commiting suicide and I converted them to Christianity over the internet, only by the saving power of Jesus Christ.

So now I am just waiting for Him. How do you guys witness? What do you say?
First you must become a real Christian yourself.
Then through the power and experience of your faith, your testimony, in overcoming sin and tribulations
you will have something true and meaningful to share with other people you talk to.
Slogans and one liners are of no value, save your money.
When it comes to what to say, Jesus himself said that the Holy Spirit will give us the words to say.
This is very true, and I am able to share my own testimony and also of other saints as to miracles, healings,
answered prayer, along with the Scriptures. The Spirit gives me a confidence in speaking Jesus to others
(and a real joy).
The Word of God is sharper than a two edged sword. This is a poetic expression that the Word of God penetrates
a person's heart and touches their soul.
That's why people are mostly offended by it and turn away,
or they are touched by the Word and respond positively.

Not necessarily. There may be a time when you just feel so strongly impressed that you just have to go and talk to people, to spread the Word. In that case it is probably God that is prompting you to take a walk. Other times it may be your idea...and then you just trust that God is there with you. You will be able to sense if the time is not right, or go right now. Just be in constant prayer, and praying or thanking God that you do not miss any divine appointment will keep you and God connected in a way. The more you are sensitive to the Holy Spirit, the more you will be able to discern those things.

It is great that you were there for that person on the internet! To me that was a divine appointment that God led you to. Always have the attitude to be willing and joyful about being obedient.

Scriptures - the fundamental starting points - like
John chapter 3 ye must be born again...
Acts 1: 1- 8
Acts 2: 1-4 and Acts 2: 36-41
Acts 10: 34-48 and Acts 19: 1-7
Romans 6: baptism and death to sin
Romans 8: all of it. Life in the Holy Spirit

This scripture is very very important when witnessing.

Romans 10:9.. That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
Romans 10:10.. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

How do I witness...
Well, always carrying about me the death and life of Jesus I found that when he wants me to say something He gives me the words. I do keep a bible in my bag but also scriptures in my heart.

I have given away those little gideons bibles to people who need them, like one lady was recently mourning her relative so just gave her a Bible.
I tell my testimony if people ask me something like where does my help come from.
And in general care for people the way that Jesus cares for me.

If someone wants to talk about faith and Jesus with me and discuss the Bible I do take the time to chat with them.
Just plant little seeds, and if know of anyone who needs the gospel I ask someone to pray with me so that person will hear, if not from me maybe someone else.

Yes, but it is NOT the gospel of salvation. It is merely an affirmation of Romans 6 and Romans 8; remember this scripture is in
chapter 10 - well after the preceding chapters on baptism and the need for the infilling of the Holy Spirit.
You cannot take one scripture as a stand alone of itself and say that's the gospel. Scriptures unto salvation do NOT contradict or negate each other, especially the fundamental requirements for salvation.
Ye must be born again of water and of the Holy Spirit to enter the Kingdom of God.
Saying some sinner's prayer or saying out aloud that one "believes" in Jesus is not the same.

There would be reason to tell someone the Gospel without telling them how to get saved! Romans 10:9 is exactly what I did to get saved 39 years ago. Without confessing with your mouth, and believing in your heart that Jesus Christ is Lord, no one can be saved!
