Hi from 48 degree Florida, yikes

Hi, I am John. I live in Florida. Yes, we are having a major cold spell here in Florida. I am getting a little worried if it gets any colder.

I am glad to be here and liked the friendliness of this forum. I am 65 years old and have been an atheist, an Evangelical in the Reformed Tradition and am now a Catholic Benedictine oblate of a Benedictine monastery.

I am self-employed. I have lived in California, Texas, New Jersey, and in Florida since the mid 1960s. My only foreign travel was two trips to South America in the late 1960s.

Hope to get to know everyone and share our love of God. Blessings to all and to your families.

I laughed when I saw the "cold spell" in Florida being 48.

I am from NY. We get much colder here :)

Welcome to the forums!

Thank you everyone for the nice welcome and good tips about the site.

Robine, I am interested in that part of Europe, its history and future which I think will be very bright (at least that is my hope). I am looking forward to talking with you.

Where is the Messiah, thank you for the welcome, it is good to be here.

Fish_of_Faith, it is nice to be welcomed by another new person. I am always impressed by the knowledge of UK people I meet online.

xspinningisfun, the cold in the Northeast is like another dimension, I hear about people who say they experience sub-zero weather, high winds, and deep snow, but am not really sure it could even exist. But regardless, thanks for the welcome and the good links.

ASUK, LOL. I do like the Florida summers and seldom are bothered by the heat. Global warming? I say, OK, where is it when I need it.

Thanks again, I like the clean design of this website, easy and enjoyable to use.

That’s nice :) Some charismatic Christians say that great awakening in whole Europe will start in CZ. But they have been saying it for at least 15 years and I am always skeptic about too good prognosis.

Hellooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!! If your cold , have 1 of my cookies LOL
Welcome to CFS my brother from another mother! Now you have to say that as fast as you can without flopping your tongue all over your face hehehehehe. I'm in GA.
This is a very cool site...................not weather wise

Thanks Robine, I had not heard that about CZ, and it is an interesting notion.

LOL, yes I know. It is so easy to become spoiled by nice weather. I lived in Haddonfield, NJ (near Philadelphia) when I was in 7th grade. I loved every minute there. The history, architecture, and even the weather.

Welcome from a possibly colder SC. I would love to learn of your journey of faith.

Hi R-C, thank you for the welcome. And yes, please keep any cold weather with you!!

My journey of faith, I suspect is much like yours. Sinner saved by grace. A growing desire to seek God and draw ever closer to Christ.

Yes, but your path appears to have led you through an amazing journey. From atheist to Protestant to, not simply Catholic, but closely aligned with the Benedictine Order ( I do not know what is an obligate, yet). Each element of the journey you described appears, from an outsiders perspective, to have been almost radical in magnitude. I can only imagine your story would be full of wonder and amazement which must be encouraging to any who might learn it.
