In your own words~~~~~

To me trinity is The Father (God) The Son ( Jesus) and the Holy Ghost.:D

Dear JesusReignsForever,

May God be with you!

I agree. The Trinity is the Triune God. Three persons in on God. It is a core belief of all Christians.

It is because of heresies during the 3rd century that the Nicene Creed came about to establish once and for all the mystery of the Trinity.

We believe in one God, the Father, the Almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all that is seen and unseen.

We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, eternally begotten of the Father, God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, one in being with the Father. Through Him all things were made. For us men and our salvation He came down from heaven: by the power of the Holy Spirit, He was born of the Virgin Mary , and became man. For our sake He was crucified under Pontius Pilate; He suffered, died, and was buried. On the third day He rose again in fulfillment of the scriptures: He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead, and his kingdom will have no end.

We believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the Son. With the Father and the Son, He is worshiped and glorified. He has spoken through the Prophets. We believe in one, holy, catholic, and apostolic Church. We acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins. We look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come. Amen

God bless you.

The Trinity is who God is according to His Word
Non trinity is disbelief in God's Word

The Pentecostals do not believe in the Trinity.
They believe in Oneness as they call it.
Father, Son and Holy Ghost are ONE.

The Father , the Son and the Holy Ghost are one- three in one- triune-

Easton's 1897 Bible Dictionary
Trinity
a word not found in Scripture, but used to express the doctrine of the unity of God as subsisting in three distinct Persons. This word is derived from the Gr. trias, first used by Theophilus (A.D. 168-183), or from the Lat. trinitas, first used by Tertullian (A.D. 220), to express this doctrine. The propositions involved in the doctrine are these: 1. That God is one, and that there is but one God (Deut. 6:4; 1 Kings 8:60; Isa. 44:6; Mark 12:29, 32; John 10:30). 2. That the Father is a distinct divine Person (hypostasis, subsistentia, persona, suppositum intellectuale), distinct from the Son and the Holy Spirit. 3. That Jesus Christ was truly God, and yet was a Person distinct from the Father and the Holy Spirit. 4. That the Holy Spirit is also a distinct divine Person.

Yes, yet The Pentecostals claim anti Trinitarian, though that is actually what they do believe, isn't it?

That is exactly my understanding. ONE God yet three distinct 'persons' Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

The trinity doctrines and the oneness doctrines seem to sat the same thing but in different ways- I beleive in 3, I believe in 1, I believe in 3 in 1!:D
As I asked a brother if the Father is God and He calls the Son most High God and the Holy Spirit is God but there is only 1 God then indeed they are one- three distinct manifestations of the One True God- selah :D

As a footnote to all of this I would like to say something
Smelly Cat has taken the position that Jesus is not God which is in direct contradiction to not only Pentecostal oneness doctrine but the very bible itself!

Yes, yet The Pentecostals claim anti Trinitarian, though that is actually what they do believe, isn't it?
I have studied Oneness Pentecostalism in school.
I am no expert by any means, but I may be able to help.

Oneness Pentecostals do believe in God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.

Well,... That's the trinity. Right?

Not exactly.

Oneness Pentecostalism is a derivation of Arminianism, especially with regard to the doctrine of salvation.

The belief is that God revealed Himself as the Father in the Old Testament. He later revealed Himself as God the Son in Christ Jesus. After Christ's Ascention God reveals Himself as God the Holy Spirit.

I know that sounds alot like trinitarianism, but it really is not. The difference is this: As a trinitarian, I could easily be falsely accused of worshiping three Gods by someone who does not fully understand trinitarianism.

A oneness Pentecostal could not be accused of that.

In addition to that, oneness believers deny predestination and maintain that it is completely up to the individual to decide whether or not he wants to be saved.

In contrast, we profess that we are all spiritually dead and therefore we cannot by our own strength believe in God the Son, nor can we go to Him without the will of God the Holy Spirit.
This is based on 1 Cor. 2:14 Eph. 2:1 Romans 8:7 Eph. 2:8-9 and 1 Cor. 12:3

Also I must add. It is my prayer that I have offended no one with this post, and that I have accurately, and lovingly explained the diversity between these two understandings.

If I have misrepresented anyones belief, or if I have offended anyone, I sincerely apologize. My intention was only to share my own personal understanding of the Trinity. :groupray:

The trinity is composed of 3 distinct beings which make up the "Godhead"

The father, before the beginning of the world chose us, Jesus Christ redeems us, and the Holy Spirit seals us. This is the sequence how the Godhead accomplishes salvation.
It was the Father's idea, Then the Son set out and secured what the Father had purposed, and the Spirit applies to our hearts the entire concept..

As for pentecostalism, i will tell you upfront their concept of the trinity is flawed, correct me if i'm wrong but they believe that Jesus is 100% Son and 100% Father. This blatantly makes no sense..in this case who was Jesus praying to in the Garden of Gethsemane. His human side was praying to his God side? No that makes no sense.

Yep- that doctrine cannot pass this simple test-
The Father , the Son nad the Holy Ghost are all identified as God in scripture- God has order in all He does and the Son is subject to the Father:

1Co 15:24 Then cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power.
1Co 15:25 For he must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet.
1Co 15:26 The last enemy that shall be destroyed is death.
1Co 15:27 For he hath put all things under his feet. But when he saith all things are put under him, it is manifest that he is excepted, which did put all things under him.
1Co 15:28 And when all things shall be subdued unto him, then shall the Son also himself be subject unto him that put all things under him, that God may be all in all.

All things become subject to the Son and He becomes subject to the Father-

All I know there is the Father, the Son and Holy Spirit......They are true a real, our fellowship with the Father and the Son is through the Holy Spirit.

3-4 month ago ( I must say It only been 8 month, that am having fellowship with God..Although I accepted Christ 4yrs ago) I was asleep( not dead ofcourse:)) in my room( actually I stay in my friend room) at University, but there was voice which was keep on speaking to me saying " Honor the Father" it continued to repeat, till it said I should read this scripture "John 5:16-23" (Actually to me this is the reason I strongly belief that the the Bible is inpired by God Himself, since He has spoken to me in number of times in past 8 month, by saying I should read certain scriptures in the bible, He even says verses and chapters, wow God is Great and Real)

John 5: 16-23
Honor the Father and the Son
16 For this reason the Jews persecuted Jesus, and sought to kill Him,[c] because He had done these things on the Sabbath. 17 But Jesus answered them, “My Father has been working until now, and I have been working.”
18 Therefore the Jews sought all the more to kill Him, because He not only broke the Sabbath, but also said that God was His Father, making Himself equal with God. 19 Then Jesus answered and said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of Himself, but what He sees the Father do; for whatever He does, the Son also does in like manner. 20 For the Father loves the Son, and shows Him all things that He Himself does; and He will show Him greater works than these, that you may marvel. 21 For as the Father raises the dead and gives life to them, even so the Son gives life to whom He will. 22 For the Father judges no one, but has committed all judgment to the Son, 23 that all should honor the Son just as they honor the Father. He who does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent Him.

Then I realized that, in my heart although I didn't know, I Honored the Son not the Father. I think even today there are some people without knowing, who ignores the Father important role in our Salavtion..So if we seperate them while they are One, there is a problem......So people who say Jesus is 100% Father are liars..................

OFF TOPIC

Was the Holy Spirit only given to Human beings after Jesus was Glorified, was it firstly poure on peoples during Pentecost in acts 2? If so can anyone explain to me this verses?

Psalm of David
Psalm 51 :11
Do not cast me away from Your presence,
And do not take Your Holy Spirit from me.

Luke 2
Simeon Sees God’s Salvation
25 And behold, there was a man in Jerusalem whose name was Simeon, and this man was just and devout, waiting for the Consolation of Israel, and the Holy Spirit was upon him. 26 And it had been revealed to him by the Holy Spirit that he would not see death before he had seen the Lord’s Christ. 27 So he came by the Spirit into the temple. And when the parents brought in the Child Jesus, to do for Him according to the custom of the law,

It is generally accepted that God put His Spirit on someone for service in the old covenant and we expierience a true indwelling in the new- that is why the temple curtain was torn from top to bottom- Heaven was reaching out to man and the ark was no longer His dwelling place but indeed we are.
As far as the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost I do not believe there is any jealousy anongst them as they are one. blessings- brother Larry

It is also important to remember that Jesus though fully God walk on this earth as a man to demonstate what a man could do when moved upon and in submission to the Holy Spirit. Jesus did no miracle before the Holy Spirit desended on Him, He only did what He saw the Father do and only spoke what He heard the Father say- a perfect example for us and a promise -

Joh 14:12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.

Let us like Christ be led of the Spirit continually glorifying our Heavenly Fathers Name-selah
