Should Homosexual Behavior Be Illegal?

I think the best way to combat prostitution is to fine the clients and to use the money to pay for the rehabilitation of the women who are working as prostitutes.
So you think the clients should be fined, and basically prostitution should be illegal. Why? Moral reasons or health reasons?

And if you are basing it on health reasons and not moral reasons then here is a few health issues for homosexuality:
- A 1997 study in British Columbia found the life expectancy of men who engage in sodomy to be comparable to that of the average Canadian man in 1871. Researchers estimate that nearly half of the 20 year old men currently engaging in sodomy will not reach their 65th birthday.1

- Ninety-five percent or more of the AIDS infections among gay men result from receptive anal intercourse.2

- The risk of anal cancer "soars" by nearly 4,000% for men who have sex with men. The rate doubles again for those who are HIV positive. A Michigan homosexual newspaper admits there is no such thing as "safe sex" to prevent this "soaring" cancer risk. Condoms offer only limited protection.3

- Homosexual men face a significantly higher risk of HIV/AIDS, hepatitis, anal cancer, gonorrhea and gastrointestinal infections as a result of their sexual practices.4

- Men who engage in sodomy are 860% more likely to contract a sexually transmitted disease (STD), increasing up to 500% their risk of contracting HIV/AIDS. Men who commit acts of sodomy with men have large numbers of anonymous partners, which can result in rapid, extensive transmission of STDs. Control of STDs is a central component of HIV infection prevention in the United States; resurgence of bacterial STDs threatens national HIV infection prevention efforts.5

- Anal Human Papillomavirus (HPV) infection is nearly universal among HIV-positive homosexual or bisexual men and about 60% in HIV-negative men exhibiting the same sexual behavior.6

So even if I wasn't basing my argument from a moral standpoint. Homosexuality is dangerous to our society from a health standpoint.

The vast majority of the prostitutes that I know of have come from broken homes, have no self-respect at all, and deep inside they are completely shattered by years of abuse from their clients. Maybe you think that we should despise them, but I believe that several of the prostitutes that I have met have bigger hearts than some of the people here.

Nope never said I should despise them. But you did say we should fine the clients. I'm only trying to understand your view point more clearly. So should we fine homosexuals? Is that what you are trying to say?

Oh please, your not authority on Gods mercy...and the fact is that most homosexuals have been molested as children by HOMOSEXUALS!

oh but nobody should tell them the truth?

What bothers me is, because we speak of truth from the word of God we are hypocrites and haters. So basically they are calling God a hypocrite and hater

Me too. I think if we are going to start locking people up for sins we should start in the church with gossip or adultery. Of course they don't believe we should do that because they are hypocrites and being gay is more horrible then their sin.
So because someone gossips we know must approve the most wicked of acts? Come on thats insane and has no relation to the truth.

There you go, judging again. If Jesus isn't in residence in those hearts, then they can't be bigger than those where He lives. That is just you talking flesh.

I am trying to say that these women who work as prostitutes have had a very tough life, most of the time. Their clients go to them, pay for sex, and then they go home and live respectable lives, while the prostitutes are despised by the entire society, including the clients. So, in my opinion, the clients are more guilty than the prostitutes. They are the ones who should pay for the social rehabilitation of the women who don't have the means and the opportunities to stop working as prostitutes. I am not an expert on this issue, but I read that some of the prostitutes stick to their pimps because otherwise they will be left with nothing (the pimp will take everything from them).

At least some of these prostitutes know that they are sinners and that they need to be saved. They are closer to God than those who think themselves perfect and blameless.

Everyone has a reason for doing what they do. If both parties are willing, why should either side have to pay a penalty, and it be illegal? Why is the client guilty in your opinion?

If there is no demand there would be no suppliers. This is very similar to hypocrites that turn their nose up at people that work on Sunday yet go to stores and restaurants. If you don't want someone to sin by working on Sunday then why support the demand for people to work on Sunday?

Hypocrisy is everywhere. Judgement will come and we'll have to answer for it though.
