Mormonism

Though they try to make it look so, Mormonism is not a Christian denomination.
On Youtube there are a lot of well-done videos showing Mormons and their work and ending "...and I'm a Mormon." Nothing wrong with that.

There are also great resources there that provide irrefutable, documentary evidence that Joseph Smith was a faker.

I think there are 2 separate issues here..

Can mormon belief accepted as Christian belief? - No
Can a mormon be saved? - Yes, because we do not know the heart of a person.. This is God's business..

I see them as 2 separate issues.. Many don't.. That's where the heat comes :)

I agree that they are two separate issues. I don't consider Mormonism "Christianity. " It seems more like an entirely different religion that just happens to have Christ as its center as well.

For me it all comes down to what Jesus said,

Where your treasure is there will be your heart also. Matt 6:21

Mormons treasure is in Salt Lake City, just ask them, they all want to go to the temple there, whereas our Treasure is in Heaven, sitting on the right hand of the Father, interceding for us daily and that is where my heart is also.

If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth. For ye are dead, and your life is hid with Christ in God. When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory. Col 3:1-4

Blessings,

Gene

I agree, except that their Christ is more of a story-book character, and not the authentic Jesus Christ, the Son of God.

None of the Mormons I have talked to have given a story book type Jesus. You just don't agree with it so you find insulting ways to describe their beliefs. It's actually a lot like what atheists do when they call God our "invisible friend" or call our Bible a book of fairy tales.

Mormons out on their missions assignments don't venture into that, because they know it is far-fetched, and would make them a source of ridicule. They are charged with bringing people in, not turning them away.

As a matter of fact, I have been told that the religion doesn't actually teach the typical member of the LDS all the details of the faith. It's only the higher ups that have been taught this stuff, but they don't push it on the regulars. That's why many of them don't even know what the LDS fully believes. Maybe tot he regular Mormon, the full extent of their strange doctrines goes as far as their funny underwear.

I don't have to FIND anything insulting about their beliefs---they are outlandish and contradict God's word. That's good enough for all of us who know the Lord.

So you know more about Mormon beliefs than a regular Mormon? I find that to be an odd thing to say.

You're an insulting person, it seems. I don't agree with Mormonism or Buddhism or any other religion but you would never catch me spitting insults about them. I feel that is wrong because it's insulting to the members of that religion. How can you convert people if you feel you are so much smarter than they are? I'm sure they can sense that in person because I can tell you're a condescending person even in your nice posts.

I may or may not know more about the error their religion teaches than the average "missionary" does---but I know a lie of the devil when I see it. Usually they are young in their conversion. Obviously they do not have the truth and some of the LDS beliefs that the top churchmen hold are not told to them.

I am not an insulting person, and I am NOT insulting Mormons! It seems you want to support Mormonism for some reason. Why? Didn't you say recently that you do not consider it "Christianity"?

It isn't a matter of being smarter than anyone. I am not condescending in any way with Mormons or anyone else. I happen to be sharing here WITH CHRISTIANS who should be on the same page about this!

Why do you want to make this a personal issue, insulting me? You need to not be so rude.

Have you led any of these people to Christ? How would you do it?

I don't agree with Mormonism so I don't support it. I do however feel we need to have a certain amount of respect for other people's belief system, which you do not. You don't even respect fellow Christians different opinions which makes me wonder why you would want to discuss anything with us. Maybe just to tell us what you think is a truth?

I'm not insulting you. I have no mean spirit when I'm telling you these things and I don't want to hurt your feelings but I would like you to understand how you come off to people. Constructive criticism, I guess is the best way to put it.

I have no respect for Mormonism because I know where it has come from---demons...but I respect people, and love them as Jesus tells us to. I love them by telling them the truth of the word. LDS people are more than welcome on my veranda.

Yes, you have turned to insulting me, not knowing one iota of what I am like as a woman. You need to develop a bit of grace and not attack those you disagree with. I don't see what you say directly to me as constructive in ANY way, so you need to stop. It is hurtful. Try discussing the subject, rather than the POSTER!

I know that is your opinion. I'm not going to fight you on it but I do disagree with you.

Nothing I've said was meant to hurt your feelings or insult you. I understand though. I have people insult me constantly here because of my beliefs and you've done it before too. I apologize if your feelings were hurt.
