The Promises Of God.

The Promises of God

Ephesians 1:2-3 KJV

(2)Grace be to you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ.
(3) Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all
spiritual blessings in heavenly place sin Christ:

2 Peter 1:3-4 KJV
(3)According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness,
through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:
(4) Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might
be partakers of the divine nature,
having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

The Bible is filled with promises that our Lord has given us. These promises have already been
given unto us. The promises that we already have is where we get our Hope from. The Apostle Paul
said in the book of acts that he was on trial because of the hope of the promise... If God had not given
unto us his promises, we would have no hope at all!!

Acts 26:6
(6) And now I stand and am judged for the hope of the promise made of God unto our
fathers:

If I promised to give you $100.00, you immediately gain a hope to receive this money. You
want my promise to you to become fulfilled. As soon as you see this $100.00, my promise to you is
fulfilled. We must remember the only person who can fulfill God's promises is the one who promised
it. My wife nor anybody else can fulfill my promise to you except me! When a promise is given,
that promise binds that person who gave it to the person who received it. God is bound by his promises
to us to fulfill it in our lives. The word “promise” means to tell, declare. To proclaim as public
announcements or decrees. The Greek word also has a legal meaning “tosummons” (to summon). A summons requires a person to appear at a particular place at a particular time. For what purpose are we to appear? So we can receive the promise given us by God! If you want to receive the $100.00 I promised you, you will never see it until you come to me where I am at!

Heb 4:16
(16)Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace
to help in time of need.

If you have any needs in your life, God has a promise that can fulfill it, only you have to come to
him to receive it. Before a promise is fulfilled in our Life we are only hoping for its fulfillment. But once we see what we have been hoping for, we are no longer hoping for it anymore.

Rom 8:24-25
(24) For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why
doth he yet hope for?
(25) But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it

Hope that is seen IS NOT HOPE!!! Why does a man hope for something he already sees? He
doesn't! He is no longer hoping because he sees his hope fulfilled! Notice verse 25. We are hoping for
something we can not see yet. The Bible does not say hope is invisible, and that it can not be seen, but
it does say when you see it, it is no longer called hope. It changes from Hope into FAITH!!

Heb 11:1
  1. Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
Eph 1:15-18
(15)Wherefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus, and love unto all the saints,
(16)Cease not to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers;
(17)That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom
and revelation in the knowledge of him:
(18) The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of
his calling,
and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,

The greek word in verse 18 “know” means, “to see”. The Apostle Paul prayed constantly to God
the Father to enlighten our eyes so we could SEE THE HOPE OF HIS CALLING!!!! When your eyes are enlightened you see something, that is the purpose of light is so we can see!!
People who are hoping in the promises of God are spiritually blind. They can
not see, they need to come to God to receive the promises he gave them, You have to see it to receive it! “if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it.” It was never God's
purpose for you to hope your entire life away! Hope always has a time in which it becomes fulfilled,
its in this life not after you die!!! Think about it, wouldn't that be dumb for someone to promise you
something that you could never get in this life?

Pro 13:12

  1. Hope deferred makes the heart sick, but a longing fulfilled is like a tree of life.”

We have a lot of sick people in the Church today because they have never seen there hope fulfilled.Hope fulfilled is like eating from the tree of life, you will never be the same! The word “deferred”, means, “postponed, delayed”. The only person who can delay the promises of God to be finished in your life is you! You have been summoned to appear before your Lord at a specific time to receive from him his promises made to you.

Eph 1:9-11
(9)Having made known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he hath
purposed in himself:
(10) That in the dispensation of the fullness of time she might gather together in one all
things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him:
(11) In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the
purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will:

We are living under the dispensation of the fullness of times. God is gathering all his saints into
one place, that is were he lives, Mt Zion, the city of the living God! This is were we are to come to
receive our inheritance from him!

2Co 1:18-20
(18)But as God is true, our word toward you was not yea and nay.
(19)For the Son of God, Jesus Christ, who was preached among you by us, even by me and Silvanus
and Timotheus, was not yea and nay, but in him was yea.
(20) For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God
by us.

We don't have worry if God would give us his promises today, as he has already said yes to all of
them! The Lord gets great pleasure in giving unto us His Kingdom. God's promises are fantastic, and
He loves fulfilling them in our lives today, but fulfilling His promises to us is not his ultimate purpose
for giving them. We read in 2 Peter chapter 1 this...

2Peter 1:3-4
(3)according as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through
the knowledge of Him who has called us to glory and virtue,
(4) through which He has given to us exceedingly great and precious promises,so that
by these you might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that
is in the world through lust.

How many times have you made a grocery list, and then you go to the store to purchase these items
and you always wind up buying more that you expected. The Lord has made it possible for us to come
unto him to receive the fulfillment of his promises to us, and at the same time while we are there we
should also pick up a few other goodies. Like partaking of his divine nature, which is the tree of life!!!
Notice, you can not partake of this until “ you escape the corruption that is in the world.”
I like the Amplified Bible translation of this verse...

2Peter 1:4
(4) By means of these He has bestowed on us His precious and exceedingly great promises, so that
through them you may escape [by flight] from the moral decay (rottenness and corruption)
that is in the world because of covetousness (lust and greed), and become sharers (partakers) of the
divine nature.

You will never be able to receive fulfillment of the promises from God or be able to partake of His
divine nature until you first fly away to where he is in His Kingdom. Stand before your God and allow
him to give you your hearts desires (promises), and while you are there, to begin partaking of his
nature. There is no other way to get it. Jesus is the only way to the Father, who sits beyond the veil
enthroned in all His Glory waiting for you to come unto Him.

What are those promises of God?

There are hundreds and hundreds of promises. Here are just a few......

Mat 11:28 Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

Luk 6:38 give, and it will be given to you. Good measure, pressed down, shaken together, running over, will be put into your lap. For with the measure you use it will be measured back to you."

Joh 10:10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life and have it abundantly.

Joh 14:27 Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.

Act 1:8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth."

Act 2:28 You have made known to me the paths of life; you will make me full of gladness with your presence.'

Rom 8:28 And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.

Rom 8:38 For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers,
Rom 8:39 nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.

1Co 2:9 But, as it is written, "What no eye has seen, nor ear heard, nor the heart of man imagined, what God has prepared for those who love him"--
1Co 2:10 these things God has revealed to us through the Spirit. For the Spirit searches everything, even the depths of God.

2Co 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.

2Co 12:9 But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

Php 4:19 And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.

1Pe 5:6 Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you,

Jas 1:5 If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him.

1Jn 5:14 And this is the confidence that we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will he hears us.
1Jn 5:15 And if we know that he hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests that we have asked of him.

Rev 3:21 The one who conquers, I will grant him to sit with me on my throne, as I also conquered and sat down with my Father on his throne.

Rev 2:26 The one who conquers and who keeps my works until the end, to him I will give authority over the nations,
Rev 2:27 and he will rule them with a rod of iron, as when earthen pots are broken in pieces, even as I myself have received authority from my Father.
Rev 2:28 And I will give him the morning star.
