Universal Church

It is very possible that something so big will be so controversial. It has many thousands of followers and there are v bound to be scandels where the devil has not liked or wanted the growth and progress of the church.

I believe that is just one thing that ypu've heard about the church without knowing anything else about the history, what it's about, it's goals which is to preach the gospel and save souls from hell and bring them to salvation. This church is so powerful it has suffered many many attacks to try and prevent it. But it has overcome and is going strong . I don't think there is any church quite like it, and then again i like certain powerful preachers who are not of UCKG but one must admit the good works of this church that is not of man but of God.

Seems they have a few scandals going on. An 8 year old girl died after an exorcism in this church.

The news reports that the Girl died at the hands of some live in boyfriend and her mother. Both are serving life in prison for her murder. She never made it to the exorcism. I am concerned about the use of the word exorcism though and hope it was not a church term but media misconception.

Leaders have been under the gun for doing wrong things with money. Nothing ever proven in court and this type of thing expected with a prosperous ministry. They did a 10 year investigation that came to nothing.

They combed every inch of Kenneth Coplelands property, all his plans, everything and found ZERO mishandling of any money. So reports of bad things mean nothing.

A prosperity type church is going to take lots of flak from the unlearned. I don't see any reports of kids dying because parents where trying to save them with "Faith" or something. I don't see reports about preaching with snakes, so those are positives.

Now I am not so sure about their "Sanctification" doctrine.............. Gets to close to the edge of the Apostolic Pentecostal belief.

Acid Test: If the preacher is asked, "what must I do to be saved?"
If he doesn't say what Peter said, the movement is missing the mark.
Acts 2:38 "Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost."
Galatians 1:8-9 "But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. As we said before, so say I now again, if any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed."
Ephesians 2:20 "And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone;"

First time coming across this.. Was going through about it in Wikipedia.. There are more sections dedicated to scandals than writing anything about the Church itself.. Not being judgmental.. Just saying..

I read that also, but no convictions or proof of anything. It's a "prosperity" church, so I would expect lots of accusations as we see that here with the churches in America who believe God should bless you.

Seems like any church that actually gains something gets blasted. God forbid if a Pastor pave his parking lot in real gold. Lots' believe God is broke and might run out of money if a Pastor gets blessed to much. If it were not for this cry wolf effect on all prosperous churches, then I might think there would be something to it.

It's hard to tell what accusations have truth to them or not since none of them panned out.

Universal Church of the Kingdom of God. Who comes up with these names?
First off, "properity gospel" is a false gospel, it misses the point entirely.

They were charged with fraud and money laundering, which was supported by the evidence, but was found to be outside the prosecutors juridiction. In other words THEY ARE DIRTY, but the prosecutors can't go after things that go on outside of Brazil.

Give and it shall be given, pressed down and shaken together................. God multiplies the seed sown............. No man given everything for the gospel sake and not received 100 fold now in this time.

all scriptures.

Now, is it possible that God has a prosperity system? One based one giving and putting others first?

Like some others the Bible mentions, you have a knack for misapplying scripture.

They did not put "others first", they put themselves first, and that is part of the problem.
The rest of the problem is that they are thieves and liars.

I am always right when it comes to scripture. You need to realize this.

Just looking up what the doctrines of this particular 'church' teaches, and this one is a definite red flag to me and sets itself at variance with all the other things they seem to hold to that are right:

The UCKG does not believe that the sacrifice of Jesus Christ is sufficient enough to work in the congregant's life today, therefore they teach that a member of the church has to 'sacrifice' what he depends on to God through the church (for example, all of their income, savings, cars, etc.) twice a year, they commonly refer this as the "Campaign of Israel."

Go figure.
