Will All Israel Be Saved?

Looking at Romans 11 what does the following mean?

(NASB)Romans 11:25-27
For I do not want you, brethren, to be uninformed of this mystery--so that you will not be wise in your own estimation--that a partial hardening has happened to Israel until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in; [26] and so all Israel will be saved; just as it is written, "THE DELIVERER WILL COME FROM ZION, HE WILL REMOVE UNGODLINESS FROM JACOB." [27] "THIS IS MY COVENANT WITH THEM, WHEN I TAKE AWAY THEIR SINS."

That's one I puzzle over as it does imply a kind of predestination for Israel. Will they have free will in whether to accept Christ or not or is this a kind of special "universalism" for Israel?

Also how far back in history does this promise go? From the beginning of time? Only since Paul wrote the book of Romans?

They have a free will right now to accept Christ!

There is no such thing as "Universal salvation".

The spiritual blindness of Israel is not only to be understood as partial and not total, but also as temporal and not eternal.
This blindness holds sway over the nation Israel until THE FULNESS OF THE GENTILES is come. According to Acts 15:14, God is visiting the Gentiles today to call out a people for His name.

Luke 21:24 says......."Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled". That means that when the complet number of Gentiles has entered the kingdom of God, the spiritual blindness on the nation shall be removed.

ALL means that we understand the expression to mean Israel as a company of peoples rather that every Jewish person without a single exception. No one is ever saved without a person relationship with Messiah Jesus!

Greetings:

I don't think that it refers to the country of Israel.Seems to me that Jews who follow the laws of the O.T.,will
be allowed into heaven with the Christians without the profession of faith.Funny thought:eek:nly Jews could pick out Jesus in
heaven, all the Christians would run over to Charles Heston...Yo,where's Jesus.

bye

When I think about it, it seems Judas had more of a repenting heart then people I know today. He tried to give the money back, he was remorseful, and ended up killing himself over there sin.

I'm answering your post backwards: people who mistake Charleston Hesto for Jesus would probably not be there.
The profession of faith is not what saves: is is faith in the Gospel.
If we believe that Jesus died for our sins, we will repent of ours; if we believe that he was buried, we will also be buried with
Him
; and if we believe in His resurrection, we will also receive the Spirit that can raise us from the dead with Him.

We must not judge a person by another person's faith, or lack of it. This is what the scriptures testify:

When Judas "...saw that he (Jesus) was condemned, [he] repented himself, and brought again the thirty pieces of silver to
]the chief priests and elders, saying: 'I have sinned and betrayed the innocent blood'. And they said, 'What is that to us? see
you to it.' And he
(Judas) cast down the pieces of silver in the temple and departed, and went out and hanged himself."

Judas repented himself: but not to God. He did not go and seek a sacrifice to "cleanse" his iniquity, but tried to buy back his right standing with the same price with which he sold the Lord! He judged himself guilty, not believing that redemption was
as easy as first repenting of his sin and seeking the sacrifice that the Law required. Then he became his own executioner.

So you're saying if a person does not repent of all of their sins before death, they go to hell?

No, those are not my words. Those are words I heard through the scriptures.
I just believe and repeat what I have heard and seen.
You know what I also heard, and believe? That "...whosoever calls on the NAME of the Lord shall be saved...unless they have believed in vain."

I think maybe you are splitting hairs with the whole repent thing. The fact is, it says he repented. A quick scroll through my bible, and I don't see anything saying repent to God. However, I think when one repents, it's naturally assumed that they are repenting to God.

I think a person either has a hardened heart, or a repenting heart. Repent means to feel sorrow for sin, and wanting to turn away from sin. Sin means disobedience or rebellion against God. So I think anytime the word repent is mentioned, it's naturally assumed it's for God. The bible says “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven has come near.” not "Repent to God, for the kingdom of heaven has come near."

Splitting hairs? You believe that's what it is?

"For godly sorrow works repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world works death."
Who else but God, through His son Jesus Christ, can forgive sins? If there is no one else (and there is no one else), then
who to whom should anyone repent?

Exactly, one can only repent to God.

Exactly, one can only repent to God.

No Beloved: one should only repent to God.
The person's actions, or inactions, is a pretty good gauge of the heart. Peter "...remembered the word of Jresus, and went out and wept bitterly." Peter knew that there was nothing he could do; no work good enough, to undo his denial of the Lord Jesus.
Godly repentance: a condition/symptom only God can cure.
