Love is the most beautiful thing there is and those who are saved have the greatest blessing in sharing it. 1 John 4:8: "Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love." We know the qualities of love from 1 Corinthian's 13:4-8:

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.8 Love never fails.

However, I do believe that even when Jesus was overturning the tables in the temple, it was an act of love. It is always important that we always are submitted to God's Holy Spirit, because sometimes even, "Better is open rebuke than hidden love" (Proverbs 27:5). We just need to make sure in those cases it is God's will not ours and that as 1 Corinthians 13:8 says, " where there is knowledge, it will pass away," that it is not from self knowledge but from God's love.

I believe the turning of the tables as more righteous anger. I do agree we need to show more love. I am at fault on this as well.

"for zeal for your house consumes me, and the insults of those who insult you fall on me" (Psalms 69:9).

God is love and everything he does is from love. The actions of Jesus were from his love of God the Father, not from his own emotional judgment. "You judge according to the flesh; I am not judging anyone. 16"But even if I do judge, My judgment is true; for I am not alone in it, but I and the Father who sent Me (John 8:15-16). Also, "By myself I can do nothing; I judge only as I hear, and my judgment is just, for I seek not to please myself but him who sent me" (John 5:30). When God the Father judges it is for the good of the all, because of his love for them. Casting those out, even with righteous anger, is an act of love, causing those who had been doing so to wake up or at least the onlookers to wake up to the truth of what was happening.

However, rebuke is rare, so I am sorry to have emphasized it.

Rather, in the Spirit of God his love, beauty, and grace extend out of the believer in a continuous flow of wonderfulness and where ever we are is blessing, not because of the circumstances, but because God's blessing is in us and extending out of us in words and actions because we are submitted to his will. Real love can be felt by others and even the darkest of thought and emotion in others can be lifted into the beautiful awareness of God's love when we willingly submit to love. How many in the world yearn for even a moment of real love, not of this world, but the divine love that God allows us to be partakers of when we are his. The whole energy of a place can change with God's power, since his power is love. There are so many out there that are waiting for this receiving and when given it is more believable than a thousand words, because people can feel the authenticity. They may not be able to determine if someone with inauthentic in their love, but when someone is authentic they usually can tell and will draw toward your words, because they feel the power of God's love coming from them when the Holy Spirit is speaking through you. The most wonderful thing we have to look forward to is when everyone who believed by faith will be fully submitted to God's power of love, all giving and yet none lacking. This is astonishing what God has done. What he has created for our eternity. Love is the beauty of life and we who believe, who walk in the Spirit have that life now. Then however, everyone who has Christ as their savior will be manifesting perfect love.

It's a wise and mature believer that can dispense love and correction/discipline at the correct time, Jesus cleansing the Temple was because of His foundational character trait of Love and was exhibited through His righteous anger, ...those that were selling were actually blocking/stopping the ones that wanted to come and worship God, notice no one complained about what He did, because they all knew the door to God was closed to them if they didn't have the money to pay the exorbitant prices.

I often wonder how many precious lambs stayed home because they knew they couldn't pay the price, ...we have a church here that if you don't drive a Mercedes or BMW you are made to feel not welcome, ...things haven't changed since the days when Jesus walked on the earth.

Ho, everyone who thirsts, come to the waters; and he who has no money, come, buy and eat. Yea, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price. Isa 55:1

Blessings,

Gene

Indeed it is our job to love. But judgement is blurred in that statement by Billy Graham. Judgement of hell or heaven is God's Matt 10:28. Ours is to be pre-emptive / pro-active with in the body with righteous judgement of all things 1 Cor 6:3, 1 Cor 5:12. Love is Prov 27:6. Love is restoring a brother in truth James 5:19-20. If we would judge ourselves / encourage others to judge themselves truthfully, God would not judge us 1 Cor 11:31.
