Censoring The Name Of God On The Rifleman

Hello, my name is Salli and I am new to your forum.

I am a Christian and love God with all my heart and soul.

Last night my husband and I were watching a western called The Rifleman. In the last scene ,Mark, one of the main characters was reading a sign outloud which said, "In God we Trust", and when he got to the God part, the network bleeped out God's name.

It is the first time my husband and I have ever encountered something like that happening. Please pay attention, our Christian world is changing fast.

Welcome. May you be very blessed here. I personally don't have t.v. because I prefer to focus on only good and the power of God. I must say however that our Christian world is not changing (except for good that is) since for believers the kingdom of God is within them. This world is not the world of believers for Jesus said, "My kingdom is not of this world (John 18:36). When saved we are to walk by faith not fear. When we focus on and walk by faith our faith grows and we are strong knowing that God can protect from anything on earth. If we speak of the evil we are in essence creating it in our heart. If you look at the bible it doesn't see to focus on the evil in the world, but rather usually corrects the evil the believers were doing. Jesus didn't spend his time criticizing the government and secular world of the time. Why do you think that is?

I say this in love because I know many believers are becoming fearful at what is happening in current events. God said to me that one believer is more powerful than all evil combined. Did not Jesus overcome the world for us. If we have faith we will not need to fear the world. If someone wastes their time studying the world however, instead of using the time to build their faith in God, then if events do change they will have a weak foundation.

An exercise in faith is to speak into existence right beliefs for yourself like:

God is eternally, at all times, in all realms of existence infinitely more powerful than all things combined.

God is my safety. I walk in faith.

I have a hedge of protection from God around me that blocks all harm.

All my faith, hope, trust, and belief is in God.

Philipians 4:8 says, " Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable--if anything is excellent or praiseworthy--think about such things.

Proverbs 18:21 says, "The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit."

What you speak and what you focus on will either bring life (when you speak from God's Spirit) or death when you speak from the flesh which is sin.

Romans 14:23 says, "...for whatsoever is not of faith is sin." If you focus on the negative, fear is created and you put yourself under the power of it. If you focus on God's power and by faith trust him you live in blessing and peace fills your heart.

I pray that you are filled with overwhelming peace and that you cast all your cares on God, who cares for you.

WOW - that was sad!!

I know I submitted something into the Travel Channel, and they replied in an email they denied it because my children had said a small prayer. I agree, it is shocking how this is changing.

I do not think people really realize it. =(
